According to "Phungshok" of EAS online support, the estimated time frame for a resolution is 4-5 hours.

That does it.  As soon as I get back online I'm renaming all my characters Phungshok.

Got this problem a few days ago, then I couldn't play multiplayer, then it crashed, now the online pass has happened again and I can't even play SP because From Ashes is gone and I can't resume my game.

The errors are tied to victory and commendation packs. Wow, Bioware, seriously?

My "error report" to EA service reads like, "my problem is this, wait, it resolved, oh wait, new problem, oh wait, problem again." Coupled with multiplayer delay balance and slow packs for PC.

Wooow.

Like that time when they locked all the people out of their PS3s?  That went over great with the internet.

In danger of sounding like a condescending pig and being fully aware of that (but right now I'm so angry I don't really care), I'll say it again:

I don't get it, how did the game become so utterly and completely broken. This is beyond shocking.

There was a time when, once I have purchased a game, I could play it whenever and however I want. Now, games need to be hooked up to some digital IV drip before we even hit the menu. When developers and publishers force us to rely on their servers to authenticate the game before it could even be played, then by God, I don't care how it's done, but you better make sure that we can goddamn rely on you lads.

For similar reasons, I completely reject the idea of cloud storage and cloud computing. If we're going to be asked to rely on your servers, your computers, and your authentication procedures to do even the most basic functions of computer programs (like starting) then blimin' make sure we can rely on them in the first place.

It is like every games nowadays have a Silver Cord and as soon as it gets severed, you are thrown out of the Astral plane and stucked in this forum with us ( Purgatory ).

Steam never goes down like this, they like to fix any problems that arise immediately

It wasn't like that in the beginning when they switched from WON to Steam.

In other news, EA is asking for feedback on Origin.

Sure, but EA is not competing with Steam from 8 years ago. It's competing with the 2012 Steam.

get it on steam instead, works fine.

Steam is the same frakin problem. If Steam ever go down or go FUBAR for a few days, it becomes all the same. You wont be able to access your frakin games that you paid for.

Furthermore, you can play most single-player games in offline mode with Steam. And unless it's a teri-bad GFWL game, having your internet intrupted while playing will not shut down the game. Unlike Mass Effect 3.

I do not like Steam anyway. I want a real physcial box when i buy a game. I want the CDs and i want the game manual ( you know they used to make real nice paper game manuals a few years ago ? Look at Baldur Gate or Neverwinter Night manual, HUGE ! )

I like huge game manual. Always a good read for when you go to toilet.

Im old school like that i guess. I dont own a datapad or a tricorder yet... I like paper.

Have it on my screen as well.

When this kinda thing goes wrong on an MMORPG they give you compensation like extra time on a subscription.

Doubt we'll get anything but an Eagle.

You think we will get a free N7 weapon?  You sure are an optimist.

He did say an Eagle. That's about as good as a hard punch to the nose. Image IPB

I'd prefer a punch to the nose. At least that's honest.

I have a lot of games on Steam. They haven't failed on me *too* often..... But I live in eternal fear. =P

Speaking of huge physical copies of game manuals, I still remember the day when I got Medieval Total War and Civilization 3, and they came with the massive tech tree and unit roster posters? And that Civ3 manual was what, 150-200 pgs? I still have them locked away in some storage box somewhere. Am I the only one who misses those?

I like trees, so I preffer now digital manual. The game is going to be played on PC no? Though I like to have a bix as well, to see collection and how much my taste for game changed.

You've forgotten an important player in those sketches: Yes Origin, as in 'We create worlds', Wing Commander....

Just because it's in a physical box doesn't mean its not gonna use Steam. Look at Skyrim, rather then do some crappy DRM that people would have hated, they just made it simple and used Steam as their DRM instead. I still purchased the physical box, so I wouldn't have to download the game.

I do miss giant manuals though.

Yeah. Really grumpy that they decided Valve's terms were unacceptable.

We already went through the growing pains with one digital content delivery service, I'm really not seeing a good reason to go through another two years of beta testing a client.

Ah, so you also remember the horrors of the first few years when steam came out lol.  Was way worse than origin back then.  The friends list wouldn't even work for like the first year.

yanno...I was playing the ME3 MP because it was at least fun. I was trying to work through another SP campaign, just to try to capture the awesomeness I felt before the ending kicked me in the quad. But this whole thing...I'm a hairs breadth away from giving up on Bioware and Mass Effect forever. Forget the EC, forget MP, forget it all. And that's "forget" in the Ceelo Green meaning of the word...

Why did you have to remind me of that.

Good old "Heart of the Tiger" ... never thought I hate someone more than Hobbes that moment.

I suggest they take a lesson from other gaming companies and give out an additional commendation pack. But before that, I'd like this problem fixed. Then I want my first commendation pack.

Then the "Oh sh*t sorry we fuc*ed up" commendation pack.
