This wasn't a problem for me and my husband yesterday, but I went on this morning to see if the Commendation Packs were out yet and got this new request to redeem my online pass, etc.

So, is my game unplayable and offline until EA fixes their server problems?

I just got this bug too. PC Digital Deluxe. Typing my game code into the bar yielded no joy, and I can't even play single player due to From Ashes not being detected. A chat with EA help only netted me their canned response, and no amount of prodding on my part would make them look into the "Reactivation" method.

Given the sheer number of people experiencing this bug, I'm willing to give them a day, or even two, to sort this out, but needless to say, I'm NOT pleased by this at all. (Although for the record, Steam was buggy as hell during their early days too. They just seem like the gold standard now because they've had years to perfect their software and service, and it's STILL less than ideal in some areas. Always Online DRM is a plague on gaming.)

This has to be the buggiest game I've ever been unlucky enough to like. I understand it's Bioware's first try with multiplayer, but this is just ridiculous. First I get hit with the "lose all your items, lol" bug, and now I can't even play the game at all? Why is there even an online pass for a PC game?

You CAN play single player saves, even with DLC if you disable your internet and force the game into Offline mode.

Essentially. You can run it in offline mode for the SP, but that's about as good as it gets for now.

Add me to the list of PC players who can't get in due to the pass activation idiocy.

I love how it offers me the option to buy a non-existent pass, too

I tried to update and repair install from Origin - still can't get in. Last played at @11pm eastern last night and still no commendation pack (so I didn't open nothin' ) Tried to play before work at 7:30 am eastern and couldn't get in.

Digital Deluxe version and activation code didn't do the trick.

Well good for you, i dont have luxury simply because i need the internet for my work. and if i force the game to offline mode, it does not count the N7 special ops asset i would really much like for the earth mission i was about to do -.-
so no, offline isnt an option till BW/EA removes the bonds between MP and SP

oh and for the record. I have once tried the offline BS. Indra suddenly becomes unavailable for me, and so did the prothean. So if i play without being online, i will end up with a broken(gimped) save game. no thank you.

guess what?? i'm in SP right now with from ashes and the indra loaded!!!!
all i did is turn origin to offline mode then launch the game.
guess stupid people like you should try things before you post huh?

Hu, I've got the same issue but still can play my SP saves without a problem...

That worked last time we've had this problem 2 weeks ago, for some stupid reason that's not the case now. Not to mention how retarded it was in the first place to completely kill my connection for the sake of a stupid company.
