I just got an email from Bioware support telling me to repair the install:

-Login to Origin
-Right click on game icon.
Click on “repair install”
It will download update of the game.
Launch the game and it should work.

Before I download a 9GB file, has anyone tried doing this?

Let me just get this straight because I just logged on.

1. I can't play multiplayer because you've destroyed the account info somehow
2. I can't play single player because it won't load a saved game because you've destroyed my account info.
3. You can't get a single update out without tearing something up.
4. Please stop the weekend challenges because obviously for your Systems Administrators this is to complicated. I'll just play without the "nifty" packs you keep messing up.
5. Speaking of packs you can't get them out on time either.
6. You should have made the game a stand-alone game rather than tying it in with Origin that way when you mess up multiplayer you don't destroy single player as well.
7. Who's idea was it to tie the entire thing into Origin to play? That person should be fired immediately for being a moron.
8. What is wrong with you...why is this so hard? If you need someone to help you run this I'll help. I'm very good at networking (I'll even fix your latency issues) and I can manage to run a database without destroying it.
9. I'm guessing the guys behind the scenes didn't get their CCNP's (lol cisco joke for those not in the KNOW).
10. Please give us a patch or download that will unlink this from Origin so I can uninstall this useless program that I only have on here because it's the only way I can play this game.

I hate steam, but I really hate origin. When STEAM replaced WON.net I thought... "this is terrible", but as of now I'm fairly certain the guys over at Valve are laughing themselves silly at how badly implemented this is.

You mean what I'm doing right now? They claim it's a nessessary step in updating your game.

Some tried it....i remember a few posts about trying this in the german forum. Effect: NONE!

Don´t waste your time trying it.

Reinstalling is pretty much the default answer. Just like "Have you tried turning you PC off and back on?".
If they suggest something like that you can almost always better try and get to level 2 support or disconnect and connect again (assuming you don't get the same guy/girl).
It is the most useless suggestion to give if the problem is connection related and not to the installation in any way...

Man, i know in our IT department if we had an outage this long (hell, 1/5th as long) there would be Vice Presidents and C-Level Execs walking around with grumpy looks on their faces saying "blah blah blah XXX,XXX Dollars a minute, every minute were down! blah blah blah" Thankfully, we haven't gone down like that in almost 3 years now.

Jessica - your Live team needs to adopt ITIL/ISO certified methedology for Disaster Recovery/Incident Management. There should always be one person in the 'war room' who isn't invested in the fix discussion for any other reason than to communicate to the business, and in this case, your customers.

"Repair install" works real fast. This doesn't download the whole game new. Instead, it just checks the game file (rather quickly, about ~40MB/s).
But I doesn't solve the problem.

Also, if you log into Origin offline, I think you'll be able to play singleplayer with all the DLCs you want.

Still takes about 5 minutes or so. I had aion verify the 20gig file it has in about 2 minutes when I had to repair it today.
