In my experience in tech support, these are the things we can be sure of:
1 - Right now there are some really talented people working really hard to fix the problem
2 - Management won't really be helping: they'll just be pushing for it to be fixed but not providing anything to fix it faster
3 - One of the same people right now being treated like crap and working their heart out to fix the problem probably suggested a way to avoid it six months ago but some manager said "too expensive"
Don't blame the people working at the coal face. They are the ones actually working and usually know what they're doing. I would suggest that now is a great time to check out the numerous free to play online games out their and demonstrate to the management pond scum your ire in a way they understand: take away their money.
I'm afraid the ony way to take away their money they would REALLY understand is illegal in most places.
