Commander Robert Shepard
(based on I Am Legend's Robert Neville)
class: Vanguard
Earthborn
Survivor
Full Paragon.
Romanced: Jack <3
Never wanted to be the savior of the universe, but always tried to do his best to make the Galaxy a better place...
Song: Van Canto - I Stand Alone
Needless to say why, this are the most important parts of the lyrics:
As I lay to rest
and my blood’s slowing down
I feel the heat fading
and I wipe the sweat from my brows.
It’s finally done.
I made my way home.
(Here) I stand alone.
Finding trust and forgiveness
in somenone I know.
And this goes to all of my friends:
I am with you and with me - until the end.
Other very important songs for my Mass Effect experience with him:
Fabri Fibra - Non Potete Capire
(Italian rap song, at one point it says "I was abducted by aliens, now I read codes and hear voices" and I became nearly obsessed by this song during my ME2 walkthrough with him.)
Pink - I'm Not Dead
(Jack romance's theme!)
I also got a Sheploo with almost the same attitude of this one, so I'm not sure who's my "canon" Shepard, but with this one I could spend some hours on Photoshop so here ya go

Ah you've caught me guys.
Also all of the posts have been so good, that I've actually wanted to respond to everyone. So thanks again for posting and keep em up!
It's true though, we don't think about non-ME music while we play but, personally, I spend a lot of time thinking about this game... At work, while eating, when on the crapper... And while driving. Incidently any music becomes a ME soundtrack.
Haha agreed. I also take songs I hear in real life and associate it to ME sometimes. This game needs to stop taking over my life...

I had a default face Shepard (I got exceedingly frustrated at facial construction) buuuut here goes!
Nathaniel Shephard, Soldier, Earthborn, War-hero.
Personality wise, he is a fairly straight-edge and recognizes the need of regulations and rules, but also understands that there are a few moments when one needs to be assertive--moments when regulations and code do not give guidelines that explain how or what choices to make that are in the best interest of the mission, or the people you are trying to protect.
He romanced Tali, survived the suicide mission with everyone at the collector base. He convinced Wrex that Saren's "cure" of the genophage was not the cure Wrex wants and unwillingly sacrificed Ashley during the Virmire mission, and saved the council in the push against Sovereign on the citadel, realizing the Council needed to be saved if there was to be any chance of an alliance powerful enough to stop the likes of Sovereign.
In ME3 Nathaniel had united the Turians and Krogan, and cured the Genophage--and even oversaw the smoothing over of relations with Primarch Victus' son on Tuchanka by disarming a bomb that could potentially wipe out the Krogan--both by massive casualties, and by starting a war between the newly formed allies.
On Rannoch, the Commander had united the Geth and Quarians. Ending a centuries-old, bitter conflict and restoring hope for the Quarians all while making Tali's dream for a house on her homeworld, a reality.
Thane had been killed by Kai Leng, and Shephard mercilessly shattered the assassins sword and took special pleasure in taking the assassins life, especially since the Commander felt that he had failed in protecting a close friend and a good man.
song: www.youtube.com/watch (Black Hawk Down OST: No Man Left Behind)
Here's to Nathaniel! Only a composer as incredible as Hans Zimmer can honor his memory.
Amazing song and movie btw.

Excellent song choices:
1.) I really hope that two hundred years in the future Mumford and Sons will still be listened to as an old school classic
2.) I swear Blue Oyster Cult wrote some of their songs with ME in mind. Or maybe it was vice versa. Anyway some of their songs fit incredibly well with Shepard's story its uncanny. (Wintersun - Starchild scene controversy aside)
3.) Great choice for Shepard's romance.
4.) Alan Wake soundtrack sweet!
PS: The names of songs 2 and 4 really bring up imagery of the Cthulhu mythos, further adding a connection to the Reapers and ME series imo.

xD sweet photoshop skills. I Am Legend is one of my favorites.
1.) Very cool song. Especially considering how its, "Five singers, one drummer. No guitars, no bass, no keyboards but nevertheless an unbelievable melodic metal experience."
2.) Never heard of the Italian one but I wish I could understand it. Sounds really good, especially with the line you mentioned about alien abductions.
3.) Yes Pink and Jack totally fit hehe. Great ME2 video!

I think Abracadavre or Lullaby for a Dead Man also works for those especially dick-ish Shepards.
