Seeing his family and friends slaughtered, then living through the massacre of his squad has made my Shep the way he is.  He hates his past.  He hates what has happened to him and channels that energy to his enemies.  He'll rip them apart without the slightest hesitation but he's also a thinker.  After losing all he loved, he'll now do anything for his friends and squad.

His song can only be one that captures the torment and barely contained fury that resides in his pulsing biotic veins:

The, er, depression that accompanied the endings had me listening to this song for weeks. Pretty much the soundtrack to my despondency that my Shep's relationship with Liara didn't have the ending it should have.

You're right, Simon and Garfunkel really reflects the melancholy. I can definitely see them holding each other, worrying about the future with this playing.

I've never heard this mix before but it's really good. Totally love how its called "Stargate Mix". Video is cool/trippy lol, I'm currently watching it for the second time in a row

Simon and Garfunkel are totally boss. Sound of Silence and Scarborough Fair are amazing amazing songs.

Totally missed this post earlier my bad. Love Sound of Silence and Scarborough Fair. I'm also quite partial To a Hazy Shade of Winter.

I felt sorry for the girl too, although at least she's smiling at the end.  And your post reminded me of this weird video I saw from Kasabian.

After fighting for so hard for so long, she now finds rest in Kaidan's arms on the balcony of his parent's house overlooking English Bay. Having saved the galaxy twice she hung up her rifle and enjoyed a long stellar life with the former Major.

The song I chose is sort of fitting for what she has been through.

Ahh I never got to play it. Heard it was amazing though. And I just searched for the song on youtube. Your right, I really like this one. Did they use it for cutscenes, battle sequences, or both?

I edited my post to provide more detail. They only used it once, but it was probably the first time I had an emotional reaction to a game. They play it in the 3rd mission, when you come back your world after testing FTL hyperspace, only to find your world burning, with no one left alive but a few cryo trays with colonists inside. You learn at the end of the mission that your world was destroyed because you violated a 4000 year old treaty not to create FTL engines. As such the game truly begins. Watch the vid your self on YouTube. 

Just looked this scene up and its absolutely brilliant. It gave me chills even though I'm not all that familar with what was going on lol. If I can I'll try and it get Homeworld now, you've got me convinced. Thanks again for posting!

Never heard of Metaphysics before but I ended up playing Golden Despite over and over again. I feel like that song in particular was a really good mix of a lot of musical styles. Really fits in well with Shepard's story of overcoming the odds. I'm adding it to the dl list.

I have however heard the second song before. Totally love it. Thanks for posting!
