I have been having issues getting ME3 to run since release date.  After attempting to start up in Origin, a message says "playing Mass Effect 3" for a few seconds and then disappears.  Nothing happens after that, and looking at the event log shows that MassEffect3.exe crashed.

This is an issue that has been seen before since the launch, and it appears that either other uses have resolved this issue with the new patch. However, I am still unable to get it to start even with the latest patches.

For reference, I have tried many things that I can think of including:
-updating ME3 and Origin obviously.
-using the modified awc.dll and EACore.dll that EA has posted
-reinstalling ME3 from dvd, from online, using a repair install, updating repeatedly, etc.. many times, including making different accound on my computer, and doing both manual and normal uninstalls of both ME3 and Origin, disabling antivirus/firewalls, etc..
- deleting the ME3 local profile directory

The ME3 demo works fine on my machine.

I can't think of anything else I should try (other than getting a new computer or buying ME3 on a console, both of which are out of the question), but if there's anything obvious that I am missing, then I'd appreciate it if someone points it out.
