The Yaag aren't in the fight against the Reapers anyways. I doubt Yaag will ever make it into the multiplayer.

Yet the salarians were researching into uplifting the Yaag like they did the Krogans ....

Prothean would be cool though, but devs have to come up with an explanation why there is more than one.B)

They pulled an explination out of there butts for Javik after 2 games of protheans being completely extinct. They can explain a few more. Hell even Javik says he didn't know everything if anything about his peoples plans outside the planet he was fighting on.

Rogue Collectors, they're like protheans so the Phoenix link isn't pointless but there's an unspecified number of them and they are capable biotics so they could perhaps join up to spite their old masters.

Prothean.

Which would be lore killing, but yeah seems most likely.

New characters most likely vorcha, some ex-cerberus and maybe prothean would be great.
Everything can be implemented and explained enough to MP(6 classes - 3 new races (6 char)) as their linking to SP (clones, other uncovered ruins...).

Greater would be to add "later" new enemy factions - 1.Collectors (I hope BW have thought of this) and 2.mercenary groups together - vorcha, krogan, salarian, batarian, any pirates, megapissed scary instakilling spacehamsters or whatever.

Yahg should be better as one of the enemy bosses (maybe collectors controlled or some entire new faction)...we sure need more enemies - and more weapons, maps, objectives, playmodes - and more of all MP everything.

Let's just wait (hope) and see what time brings.

I really don't give a .... what phoenix will be in case it will. Main thing is there will be something new!!!

Prothean does seem like the obvious possibility, though that will annoy a few no doubt (I'm all for it myself). Mind you that's assuming that Phoenix is an allusion to Prothean, it could just simply be the name of whatever race/group they are introducing. Think of it this way if they were including Loki mechs and you only received information about the name Loki and the class they played minus the fact that they are mech people would wonder what Loki was standing for.

Not that I'm saying these are mechs either (would be neat though). I'm just saying that we don't know enough to make a definite conclusion.

Also, I think the OP had some nice ideas like Ex-Cerberus etc. I wouldn't mind playing as an Alliance version of their Combat Engineers (with turrets) and Phantoms. EDI clones would be cool too.

Javik was lore killing as well until Bioware pulled out an explination.

Every playable character in MP is a species that has at some point in the series, been an NPC combatant with a complete library of combat animations.

Vorcha: combatants in ME2. Complete animation set.
Prothean: Javik in ME3. Complete animation set.
Batarians: combatants in ME1 & 2. Complete animation set.

Volus: non-combatants, incomplete animation set. Not in MP.
Elcor: non-combatants, incomplete animation set. Not in MP.
Hanar: non-combatants, incomplete animation set. Not in MP.

This logic is flawed. Several times under many sources has the dev team talked about how they practically rebuilt the assets from the ground up for ME3. The Volus/Elcor/Hanar being non-combatants makes more sense. Have you ever seen a hanar move swiftly out of water, or hold a gun?

Agreed :P could not have put it better myself

I'd say either prothean or human, im guessing human because one of the armors in the first mass effect were called phoenix( I think it's the same armor Ashley had) so I can see some sort class set up to be a biotic god but is very inefficient with weapons and has a very low carry capacity for weapons for example the only way it could have 200% is with a shuriken pistol with super light materials, but I think prothean is more likely when I heard phoenix the first thin from the mass effect games was the armor

There's a lot of snakes in Phoenix, so that's what I think they are. And the next map...well, it will be on a plane.
