The N7 Eagle is the worst pistol in the game, period.

Carniflex X 345.1 base damage
Viper X  (on infiltrator )  286.7 * 1.4 = 401.38 base damge

+ included scope ..

Can kill in one cloaked shot things carnifex cannot .. (Ex: gold geth hunter shields - some race combinations//consumable use make this possbile for carniflex X also) ... Objective enough for you ?


So, why exactly would you use it over incisor, which still has MORE DPS. Or carnifex, on anyone who is NOT an infiltrator.
I don't really understand the facsination with one shotting shields. You have powers  to help you with them, especially with such a lightweight(level X) rifle.

But then again, to each his own.

Incisor's DPS is only theoretical (comes into play only vs huge immobile targets like brutes, atlases) ... You cannot get 3 headshot hits with one pull of the trigger with it at any range // class combination... Which means its overall DPS on target in practice is much lower than say the Viper ...

1 shooting shields means you can kill in 2 shots ... Carniflex would take 3-4 ...

The Incisor's recoil means you're lucky if you get one headshot per burst. Hell you're lucky if you get all shots on the damn target at all. With the Vindicator, Hornet, Mattock and Raptor around, I don't know why you'd even bring the Incisor up.

As the the Viper, its problem has never been the damage. It's the firing rate that really hurts the gun. It's just so slooooooooow. If it had double the ROF it would be just about perfectly balanced.

As it is, sure an Infiltrator can use the Viper to kill something in 2 shots that would take 3 on the Carnifex. But that's a saving of a whopping <0.1s in exchange for a massive DPS loss. Bring the Paladin or Valiant into it and things just get ugly for the poor Viper.

I use the incisor for my infiltrators when i am not using widow/mantis.

If you aim for the chest and are NOT compensating for the recoil the worst you get is 2 bodyshots+a headshot or even 2 HS +BS. If you drag your mouse down while shooting you can get your bullets hit the exact same spot.

Personally, I got a Hurricane I way back when it was terribad, and then I got an Eagle the next 2 times x_x

I had an Eagle on the very first Commendation Pack.
Didn't know then what a disaster of a weapon it is, used it few times in bronze, and after that never more.
Second commendation pack contained a Crusader, and I don't ever use it.

I hope I'm getting a Valiant or Hurricane this time (I really want to try out TS + Hurricane, and my online pass is broken atm), but its only 50% chances I get anything useful.

Should point out that the Eagle is pretty much in every way superior to the predator (sans weight), and it's full automatic nature means that it's the only heavy pistol that can 'properly' benefit from Marksman's bonuses. It's still got a pretty terrible recoil, but if you're used to handling it, it pretty much replaces the predator as a damage option (but not a weight based decision), making it a decent pistol for a Turian Soldier. I've played around with it to moderate success in single player, but don't have it in multiplayer to objectively speak on my play experience there.
