Actually, no. Killing the Council in ME results in some rather hefty losses. Yes, you get Mikhailovitch (25 points) and 90 points in the Alliance fleet, but you lose the Destiny Ascension (70 points) and another 100 to 130 points in non-Alliance fleet losses.
