I will say this: Even though I do believe this is a bannable offense, I don't believe Bioware is going to ban everybody who does it.

Rather, I see this being an exact replica of what happened with Halo: Reach. Over 15,000 Players abused a bug in the game, just like this, and used it to farm in-game credits.. In a PvE game. As punishment, they were all given temporary bans, and had all their earnings- items and credits- completely wiped from their accounts.

I see that as a pretty reasonable reaction.

How are they going to do that if a person spent any amount of money and also ran the credit trick. You seriously think that EA wants to open that can of worms and deal with PR &#$%storm resulting from it. Let's tell this story like it is; that is the what you want to happen, because you take issue with how other people are playing their game.

Um, that's not a can of worms. That's how digital transactions work in games. You don't own those items.
That's like saying that they'd never be able to ban ANYBODY in ANY online game if that person spent money.

Like, this isn't even a point for me to argue with you. Just look at ANY other online game and how they handled cheaters.

Oh wow, how'd this turn into such a mess?

If you cheat, you're a cheater. What happens to cheaters under normal circumstances? They get punished by the rules of the game. Bottom line. There's no acceptable justification for any of it.

However if only Bioware had fixed this earlier we would've avoided this entire thread..

No, he simply would have found some other reason to QQ because that is the nature of posts like this.

To cause a internet war between players, an to keep egging it on to satisfy his own needs.  It hasn't been fixed, it hasn't even been addressed by Bioware (not that they would admit something was wrong with their precious game without threat of lawyers)..

There is no right way, or wrong way to play a game w/ "Horde" mode.. You simply find the most efficient way to utilize your time and efforts for max gain.

n late August, Microsoft permanently banned a number of individuals who procured illegitimate copies of Halo: Reach and ill-advisedly played them on Xbox Live. Now, the Washington developer has slammed 15,000 players for exploiting the game's credit system.Image IPBThis Spartan looks to have escaped just in time.According to a Bungie employee post onBungie.net, the developer has reset credit tallies for 15,000 players who have "egregiously" exploited a credit rip-off. The post reads, "Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via itentional [sic] network manipulation (i.e., disconnects)."

They did not ban ANYONE for exploiting.  They reset a small portion of the community.  They banned for playing the game online prior to release.  REACH DOES NOT BAN EXPLOITERS/GLITHCHERS.

If you want anyone to take you seriously you need to quit using strawman arguements and unrelated extremes.

First we are not talking about bannings, we are talking about reseting players accounts, remember? You should you're the person who said it. Second you do in fact own your weapons, mods, characters, etc. How you got it into your head that you don't is beyond me. Furthermore you need to wrap your head around and absorb the fact that you are not EA, and it's not up to you to dictated what action they should take. Also you need to remember that EA is also bound by their own TOS, by this I mean, they do not state that they will reset accounts, they state banning as punishment. Finally, again I'll restate you want players accounts wiped because it's what punishment you feel is most fitting, but again you are not EA.

'Ey bucko, I didn't say they did.

Look at you, putting words in my mouth again.

In fact, maybe you should read my post on the previous page mentioning Halo: Reach.

No.

You really, really don't.

That's.. I'm not making that up. It's the same for ANY digital items you buy in ANY online game. You just plain don't own them. They aren't yours. You will never be able to take legal action against a company for restricting your access to a digital item that you purchased use of on their online service, whether they ban you or take it away.

I said that. Thanks for repeating what I said, though.

Putting words in your mouth seems the only way to get you to spit out something even remotely intelligent, or even tangible for that matter.  You are wrong.  How a user and a developer utilize their relationship in a noncompetitive gaming atmosphere is their business.  Not yours.   Please stop attempting to slander honest gamers using a product as it was sold to them.   Why are you so angry?

It's an observation.  Not a personal attack, just a reference to your inability to participate in a discussion without resorting to accusations and rants, rather than reason and understanding.   Fact is you attemped to make your argument, as inflammatory as it was, and now you are looking to pick fights and get off topic.  Good luck with that.

It's mostly amusing that when YOU do it, it's an observation- but when anybody does it to YOU, it's trolling / an attack.

You're a huge hypocrite.

That's an observation.

Any time somebody points out that you're wrong or that you've said something unintelligent, you immediately call them a troll, or say that they're just trying to flame you. That is your kneejerk reaction to everything. I can see, seriously, no argument- between me or anybody else I've seen you argue with- where you don't immediately call them a troll.

So no, I'm not pulling anything out of anywhere. You have no common sense, and you're a hypocrite. Those are observations. I observed you being those things.

I lost no debate. You put words in my mouth and then act like you win because of it. You pick at small details and then choose to ignore the larger points. You actually take facts that everybody else is aware of, on both sides of a debate, are widely accepted, and then you try to pretend like they aren't real. You are literally the worst person in this forum to try and have a discussion with.

You aren't getting another reply out of me. Good evening.

Single Player, I honestly don't mind "cheating". Companies actually seem to encourage taking easy routes / knowing all the answers by selling strategy guides and providing codes. But abusing unintended bugs in a multiplayer game, whether PvP or PvE, yeah- not the same thing. Especially in this case.

Considering you couldn't pull even ONE example of this "kneejerk" reaction you speak of,  the community can only assume you are trying transfer your own inequities onto me.  classic misplaced aggression.   I certainly got more than a few chuckles from our exchanges, though I really get no satisfaction destroying beligerant trolls like yourself.   Look at your forum history.  Virtually every post is you disagreeing with somebody with little to no substance to your claims.   go to sleep

Probably because there's more to the game than just collecting guns and color options? Despite all the sniping going on in this thread the fact is it's still about glitching credits, which only invalidates one aspect of the game (using real money to buy packs). Not about glitching to get god mode, infinite bullets, instakilling the entire map, or anything else that would affect the rest of the game.

It does affect other people. These cheaters / exploiters get that one weapon they hear is so good to level x and then decide to join gold games, these are the people with drool cups that you end up carrying, or trying to, through gold matches.

I think banning is a bit extreme, they should just re-lock all of their guns and equipment upgrades.

While not a game design that I am particularly in favor of, gaining items is a major way of increasing play time in games these days, and foregoing that is taking away a considerable chunk of the game for yourself. It's a way that many companies use to increase longevity of game life. But that ASIDE, whether you believe it affects the game or not is irrelevant- you just plain shouldn't do it.

Well, I wouldn't want to be one to tell others what they should or shouldn't do in a game (especially if they're doing something in reaction to a feature that takes away from their enjoyment of the game), but I don't disagree that it's simply against the rules. If someone glitches or cheats and are caught, they should quietly accept the ban and move on.

I'm glad that you agree people should just accept if they've broken a rule, but this- this irks me a bit.

This, and I know people don't want to hear it, screams of some bad user entitlement.

A consumer's right, if they do not like a product, or an aspect of the product, covers many areas. For example, the consumer has the right to give the company feedback on the product. The consumer has the right to take the product back to the retailer and ask for their money back, as per company policy. They have the right to trade the game in, or- Hell- they could just not play it any more. They can do many things with the physical product, and there are many ways they can express distaste with the service itself.

Those are all consumer rights, if they do not like a product or service.

A consumer, however, does not have the right to abuse the service provided by the company, and violate their contract with the company- or even to seek revenge on the company, in any way, especially through their own product. It is crude, childish, and reeks disgustingly of the entitled consumerist mindset that haunts service industry providers worldwide- from the bigwigs up in the offices of EA, down to the cashiers at our local grocery stores.
