They'll ban whoever needs to be banned.

But at least now, nobody can say that it's okay / no action will be taken.

Hey everyone,

I've been asked to clarify our stance on this exploit by a lot of BSN-ers (or is it -ees?).

The long and short of it is we do consider this cheating and we are taking steps against accounts proven to have used this exploit. We have a long list of tools we can use to detect different types of cheating.

Depending on the amount of illegitimate credits gained we often perform a simple removal of the credits/items gained but have gone as far as banning people from multiplayer due to a massive credit gain.

If you are worried that your account may be in jeopardy you can contact me3mpcheaters@bioware.com and we will investigate returning your account to a legitimate state.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments feel free to PM me (do not report yourself/others through PM, use the mailing group mentioned).

#2.

Stop with the name calling, trolling and flame baiting. This is everyones first and last warning in this thread.

If you find anything offensive on BSN please report it to a moderator - most of us check our PM's multiple times a day.

Typical.  Absolutely no indicator as to whether or not they are going to FIX THE GLITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Must be cheaper to make empty threats to the community I guess......I truly feel bad for anyone that gets banned as a result of this.  It would be a travesty.   And NO, I don't do it and I would gladly subject my account for inspection for all you naysayers and doubters.   If you couldn't buy the packs for real money that statement would have been worded completely differently.   Sigh

Reversing the credits earned(or giving a negative credit value) is a good punishment, because many people have only credit glitched a few rounds once when they first learned about the glitch and didn't know it is a banable offense. (That includes myself, as I'll admit I've done the credit glitched the first weekend after I got the game before I knew what it was, got around 600k credits)

I think I would just stop playing multiplayer if my account got swiped and I started from nothing.

I completely agree. The best way to deal with this would be to fix the glitch. I wouldn't mind the couple of days the server would likely be down when they did this. It would be worth it to not hear about this issue ever again.

Exactly. Most users don't really realize that the glitch is bad to use. The redaction of credits earned through is is absolutely a suitable punishment.

I think the best way to deal with this money glitching problem is to take away a % of credits from wave 3, 6 and 10 objectives and award those credits for completing the map and awarding bonus credits for full extraction this way it also gives us a reason to try completing wave 11 and the satisfaction for completion.

Most games I'm in, after we complete wave 10 objective then someone dies or already dies, the rest of the squadmates arent even trying to finish the wave and I'm sure most of us understand why.

The xp on gold is useless unless someone need it to level up but even if the team dies on wave 10 after completing the objective, you still getting good xp + max credits awarded.

Therefore the best solution, not just to combat the glitchers but also for us legit players a reason/goal to complete the map for maximum rewards is for bioware to do something similar to my idea above or whatever else they can think of.

I'm sure that's what Bioware wants too.   I mean why would they want your continued patronage.,  It's just money, right?

Well put buddy

Indeed, well said.

To the three of you.... please don't breed. It's obvious the world is already full to the brim with people like you.

In fact I think they need to start sterilizing people who complain about complainers complaining on a forum where you are supposed to complain/discuss your issues with a game. These kind of replies are getting tiring and there is just no point in talking to people with skulls as dense and thick as theirs.

I was referring to the topic getting tiring, not the bans.  I'm OBVIOUSLY against banning, all you have to do is scroll up.

Keep this on topic and stay off the personal jabs. Cloaked as you may think they are they will get you suspended/banned from the forums if they continue.

I'm against banning myself as well, a ban should not take place unless there is absolutely just cause for it, and I apologize on my rashness of that reply.

Those people obviously weren't going to spend money on micro-transactions while they were using the credit glitch.

I don't expect they'll be spending any money now, either- but if they're cheating, money isn't going to be a reason not to punish them, that's for sure.

I don't understand why anyone would be upset about other players earning lots of credits.  It doesn't affect you in any way.

I understand that those people are wrong, are breaking a rule, and I will report them as such.

That's all there is to it.

Translation- We still can't tell if you've cheated/are cheating if you turn off gameplay feedback, so please turn yourself in.

Someone once said a lot of your data is stored server side for most multiplayer games. I don't think you can turn that off... unless you don't play multiplayer?

Not related to that point, just a general question- Why is exploiting this glitch to buy more packs cheating, but buying packs with real money isn't? Both garner rewards for not actually playing the game and both garner rewards with no need for skill or substantial investment of time.

A large majority of our player base believes (and enjoys) our credit (earning/spending) system and how it contributes to their individual (and team) experience.

One gets us free DLC, because people impulsively blow money on what is essentially a virtual lottery ticket, to unlock the new stuff ASAP, and the other gets legitimate player's commendation packs delayed for a few weeks.

I agree. I like it. it keeps me going back. I want to see how hard it is tog et what I want. I really do like the randomness of it as frustrating as it can be. I compare it to the mystery box from **** zombies back in call of duty world at war. (i didnt play any other zombies in future COD)

How does credit-glitching delay the commendation packs? Bioware's ineptitude in that regard has nothing to with the other.

Basically, it is not an intended behavior of our system.

You mentioned that our microtransaction system does not require any substantial investment of time, I think you're wrong. I believe that our microtransaction system allows our fans to spend their real money to build their character in the same way that playing a match would. The only difference is this opens up another avenue to do so. What if someone works 70 hours a week? I don't think they have the same amount of time as a high school student to spend earning credits.
