There should be a division of Greywardens that target the Darkspawn Mages. Considering how dangerous they are compared to the other varities. You'd think the First Warden would assemble a group of shadowy Darkspawn Mageslayers. As far as we know the 'Awakened' Darkspawn originated in Emissary variety, since they can relay messages, or even communicate to the mindless Darkspawn; I think that warrant some serious culling. Also, the sentient of beings of Thedas are so concerned about magic. It would be warranted if there was Darkspawn-Dealing Equivalent of the Templars. Excluding the whole locking mages in high towers rule.

Grey Warden sect? Hmmm.

Grey Wardens specializing in dealing with darkspawn mages sounds more right but keep in mind that Grey Wardens are picked from able men and women who are skilled with a weapon or magic. They aren't trained by the Grey Wardens and I can't imagine that the Grey Wardens would have any Templar abilities against the darkspawn mages.

At best maybe they've conscripted some Templars into their ranks who are able to deal with mages. Remember that Grey Wardens recruit from everywhere and no order is safe so I assume there would be Templars within the Grey Wardens just as there would be mages.

I didn’t state my clearly, or concisely. Let me try this again. It would be ideal if the Greywarden’s had a branch that primarily dealt with locating, and assassinating Darkspawn magic users. The reason being, Darkspawn Magic Users tend to have a deeper connection the taint, and often are able to communicate, relay information, and are quite devious. If they begin to dwindle in numbers, then it is very likely this could diminish the overall group-mind of the Darkspawn. Pointedly, two of the more intelligent, almost human Darkspawn which are capable of higher thought processes is Corypheus, and the Architect. The latter conceived a demented creation known as the mother which birthed horrible aberrations, known as the Childers (which is disconcerting). There is possibly other Awakened Emissaries that exist somewhere in Thedas. They should be culled.

It's a bad idea, I think. Non-Grey Wardens don't care how a Darkspawn fights, and I don't think the Grey Wardens would want to have to wait for a special force to deal with Darkspawn, already running havoc on the surface. Most Grey Wardens never see a Blight in their short life times, so really, they would only ever get to fight roving bands on the surface, and those bands are very much random anyway.

Also, they wouldn't know ahead of time, what to expect of the Darkspawn bands they see (until they come up close). They couldn't differentiate between magic-wielding Darkspawn, and other Darkspawn, unless they happened to be significantly more powerful. Besides, there would have to be at least several such Grey Wardens, in each and every country. It'd be perhaps too hard for the Grey Wardens to do that, and no doubt time consuming for BioWare to create lore within Grey Warden lore, when people (buyers/players) already love the Grey Wardens as a faction, anyway.

Sorry, I just don't think it would work.
