As long as I never have to see or hear anything about it in the lore forums or single player campaigns, I don't care.

If Elder Scrolls is a sandbox MMO I don't see it affecting TOR.

This. They really have little to nothing to do with one another.

What do you mean 'will survive'?

Swtor's pretty dead as it is.

Thanks. Soon I will have so much money saved up as I can't find nothing I want to spend it on.

You can always invest in real estate. That'll solve your money problems :)

Lol, if it were that easy...

Recent ES games are like single player MMOs anyway.

You could just... You know? Not play it.

Never understood the hate for MMOs. It's like everyone is willing to sit around and b*tch and scream about something, just because it's not something they want.

Some of you guys are just selfish.

Mark my words, this will spell the undoing of the Elder Scrolls. I've believed this for years and I'm still as convinced it's true.
As much as I love the ES... this is just plain wrong!
I wish them luck though, for old times' sake (playing GW2 in the meantime).

Elder Scrolls MMO: Game god of BUGS. Most bugged software EVER. Literally unplayable.

They should rename the TES MMO into "God of Bugs" because that's what it's going to be. MMO's are big right? If Bethesda can't handle a single player RPG then there's no way they can handle a MMO. How long has this been in the works for anyway? Three years? I can imagine God of Bugs being a torture device that is used in Hell on you.

Guy: "Oh? What's this? God of Bugs? MMO? Massive world to explore? Three thousand hours of content? Different play experience each time? Hmmm. Hell might not be that bad afterall!"

*20 years later*

Guy: "Still installing? Well I can wait. I've only got eternity down here anyways."

*10 years later*

Guy: "Finally! Let's play!"

*10 minutes later*

Guy: "PLEASE GOD! LET ME OUT! I'M SORRY! PLEASE HAVE MERCY! I DON'T WANT ANY OF THIS ANYMORE! PLEASE! NO MORE! NO MORE! NO MORE! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!!"

Yeah, well, I didn't really explain what I meant when I said "solve".

Anyway, there are plenty of good hobbies left. I used to play pen and paper RPGs for example. Nothing wrong with those. Grab yourself Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd edition, and you're good to go (skip all the new books, it didn't get any better anyway). I wouldn't mind playing again to be honest.

As for games, do what you can to support good efforts by developers. Actually PAY for good games for example instead of pirating them. Or if you like free games, make a donation or a contribution. I'm sure people will make good games if there is a market for them.

lol no I got it. I just want a return on my money of if it blows up in my face I rather it litterally blow up in my face in the form of an Assassination squad. Not lawyers. Pft Laws.

And True, I tried P&P games. Not my sort of thing. Either the people I kknow that are into that wierd me the hell out or live far away. Or in the case of my local friends it turns baddly. Like someone suddenly summoning Godzillia and trashing the board bad.

Plus I've seen the prices on the rule books in the hobbiest story I go to time to time *shudders* I could buy lots of novels at the same price.

As to Pirating. Pft I'm a Beat not a Pirate, and a servent of the Imperium >>. But really, more and more it gets meh in gaming in general. Though I'm big into PC mods for a few of my games, and I think on my XBL friends list I have more indie titles than anyone else on my list.

Part of the problem is I'm down right pickey with my money and games. It HAS to be worth the value for me to get it.

Yeah they can be a weird bunch. But really, half the time it's about hanging out, eating pizza, talking about nerdy movies and stuff like that. I don't think we had any real weirdos ruining our fun.

Of course. All I'm saying is, if it IS worthy, let them know somehow. That's how you push the business in the right direction. I have not done a good job of this myself and bought too much crap. I aim to be more careful in the future

I for one am excited about this. Plot sounds like a generic combination of the Oblivion and Skyrim plots though.

Some of the information I'm hearing is utterly laughable. Mannimarco and the Imperials are allied with Molag Bal so they can return themselves to greatness? The Dark Elves formed a pact with the Nords and Argonians, despite not being part of the Empire? Players can be emperors? Stupid, stupid, stupid...

Wait, Wait, are you for real? Serriously? Oh god the lore is about to be screwed up big time.

Dark Elfs and Argonians, and Nords joining together? Serriously. Thats like Greeks and Turks Working together with the KKK.

And the high lawful Imperials, turning to those? Serriously?

I don't want to know anymore.

Hopefully they treat this like Fallout Wars. Or What ever it was called in terms of the lore.

No one knows anything, those are rumors at this point.

However, players becoming emperor is a very cool idea.  Reminds me of Asheron's Call's nobility system... the more followers you had, the higher your title.  If done right in TESO, a single player could become emperor of the playerbase.  That kicks ass!

Totally dumb. Talk about looking over the history of each of the races just so they don't create a playable faction. An Orc becoming emperor even though they weren't accepted until the Warp in the West?

Oh yeah. Ancestors of good old Jagar Tharn decides to make a pact with Mannimarco, who in turn works with Molag Bal.

Funny thing. Molag Bal is sending giant hooks from the sky called Dark Anchors so he can drag Tamriel into Coldharbour.

They're also retaining the look of crappy Oblivion's depiction of Cyrodiil than the magnificent jungles of the First Pocket Guide.

The new style is extremely cartoony. You can't take it seriously.

There's no nuance or respect in the type of cultural exploration we saw
in games like Morrowind. Zenimax Online's going to rationalize
all this dumb **** for the sake of entering the MMO market.

Why get disappointed? Todd Howard and Bethesda Game Studios will continue to make singleplayer rpgs. This is a different group of devs...one a completely different project.

It's Elder Scrolls.

It's Tamriel.

Its premise is still dumb.

But, it has to be acknoweldged by BGS in later games.

Nope, it's legit. I for one though am not jumping to any conclusions about the setting yet. The game is set in a turbulent and uncharted period in Elder Scrolls history, so anything is possible. If the game provides legit reasons for why these unlikely alliances occur, then I'm fine with them.
