Elder Scrolls MMO: Game god of BUGS. Most bugged software EVER. Literally unplayable.

They should rename the TES MMO into "God of Bugs" because that's what it's going to be. MMO's are big right? If Bethesda can't handle a single player RPG then there's no way they can handle a MMO. How long has this been in the works for anyway? Three years? I can imagine God of Bugs being a torture device that is used in Hell on you.


Guy: "Oh? What's this? God of Bugs? MMO? Massive world to explore? Three thousand hours of content? Different play experience each time? Hmmm. Hell might not be that bad afterall!"

*20 years later*

Guy: "Still installing? Well I can wait. I've only got eternity down here anyways."

*10 years later*

Guy: "Finally! Let's play!"

*10 minutes later*

Guy: "PLEASE GOD! LET ME OUT! I'M SORRY! PLEASE HAVE MERCY! I DON'T WANT ANY OF THIS ANYMORE! PLEASE! NO MORE! NO MORE! NO MORE! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!!"

So the more I read about the MMO the more I'm shocked at some of the design choices in a good way.

I'm gutted. It seems like every week another singleplayer focused game either goes down the MMO route or at least tacks on a multiplayer and/or coop mode. Elder Scrolls doing this is particularly hurtful to me because its only 3-4 months ago that people were pointing at this franchise and saying "hey developers, look over there, singleplayer games can be successful".

I'm honestly wondering how much longer before every developer just abandons singleplayer altogether.

Agreed, Chris L'Etoile was responsible for much of Mass Effect's lore (and wrote a few characters and missions).

The more confirmations of details that I see, the less interested I become. The only neat part is the Emperor selection.

People need to relax on the singleplayer front.

This MMO is not going to stop the regular TES titles from being released.

Bethesda Studios and Zenimax Online are not one and the same.

You'd think people would grow tired of the 'extreme closeup on the logo' trope teaser by now.

I'm a little uncertain why its age restricted. Naked pewter?

I like the music, and it sounded like Michael Gambon doing the voice over. But yeah, nothing happened.

When you screw up established canon, and need retcons left and right, then it is a problem for true fans. Its like the Recent things with Starwars. Alot of articals on Wookiepedia just arn't being updated, or are slow as alot of old fans are ticked off, or have given up on making since of the Madness that is GL and the dollar.

Thats my main concern for TES, is how will this change the next games. Because honestly 90% of whats going on in this MMO is lore breaking and makes no sense at all. The Pious Imperials, working with the Deadra? Nevermind issues with the Nord, or the 8/9 Divines seemingly just sitting on there rumps letting all this go down, when its been shown when the Daedra pull stunts like this they won't think twice on coming down with the smack down.

I can't care less about canon.

The whole conflict just sounds so simplistic. Why would the Daggerfall Covenant even form when the various kingdoms of the Iliac Bay were constantly at each other's throats? Nevermind that, Bretons never even united at all. It's like Arena all over again, except with Oblivion's daedric invasion crap.

Plus, I couldn't give a damn about Chris L'Etoile. He wasn't the one that gave Tamriel a soul.

Ballhurt actually. Todd Howard finally got a successful shot at me and threw Skyrim directly into my balls. I failed to dodge it this time. I still got the last laugh though as I broke the disk in front of Todd and said "what's the difference?" which led to poor Todd storming off in a strop.

It really does look like they are actually making a game on Hero engine. Who the **** in their right mind would willingly want to make another Hero using MMO? TOR did pretty good job in proving the engine just can't handle things MMOs should handle.
Growling dog. Hissing snake. Hero engine. Mother nature's  " stay the **** away from me"  warning signs.

While I realize none of the screenshots in link above actually tempt to enlarge em, I urge you to do so atleast to " What's in and what's out " listing. For some reasons Devs of this game have deciced to open the hype by explaining what cool features the game will NOT have. 

Seriously..other MMO using Hero engine..:l

Matt Firor? Really^ That a really great news!! For someone who  was a competitive daoc player (2001-2005) I'm excited.

That unless the corporation arms block him too much from doing his work.



They should rehire Mark Jacobs  and Sanya Thomas IMO!

Wow, it looks freaking awful. It will probably sell well at first due to the name recognition, but I doubt a company like Bethesda can be any good at maintaining a service. They do a horrible job fixing bugs in their singleplayer games; I can't imagine them trying to do it on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Anyways, like Bussin said, their games already play like an MMO with all the horrible writing and crappy quests.
