What time lost? Did you not being able to play Mass Effect 3 like actually drain time from your life span? Do you have a gauge in your rooms somewhere that shows how much longer you have to live that drained away a bunch of the bar just because Mass Effect 3 was unplayable? No? Then no compensation is needed just because you have no life and can only play Mass Effect 3 daily. Go find some real life friends and a lover then enjoy life. :innocent:

Bioware or EA can deposit 5 grand on my bank account and I'll forget this incident ever happened.

Saw a whole lot of stupidity on the first page, I'm assuming that continued.

OP never said Bioware owed anyone anything. If you responded as if he did, jump off a bridge.

It's not about owing anyone anything. It's about treating your customers as if you give a single f**k about them. A lot of people bought this game with MP in mind, some even had to shell out cash for an online pass.

Sure they're not obligated to respond, but come on, it was their screw up. It would be nice if they acknowledged it. It's not as though OP asked for a blowy.

Jeeze, you can't say anything on these boards that implies Bioware f**ked up without getting flooded with apologist trolls.

Unless it's about the ending. Hurr hold da line. Hurr go outside.

I said it earlier in this topic. That does hardly apply. A customer always, within reason, has the choice to ask for a refund in just that conditions. EA would have to grant this, provided the customer in question forfeits use of said product (aka giving it back or getting it wiped from their account). Everything else is moot or a gesture of good will by EA/BioWare.

People should never take personal agreements with a company at face value, they are always superceeded by local jurisdiction.

Off point. We're not looking for monetary recompense, refund, or other "real" compensation. We are asking for a digital good. Either extra packs or something. It's a request we feel is fair. The difference between physical good and digital good exists in law. In a way, you might say that this forum post is an attempt at arbitration.

Agree, they should get a refund if they want it, and thier local laws allow it, but compensation within the game is not a right, nor is it necessary.

what are you basing your case on though? The only thing they may owe you is a refund if your local law allows for it. They owe you nothing else, Especially in game.

That's the point. No one here is "making a case." No one here is asking for a refund. No one here has filed a petition with a court. It's a request. This warranty only has jurisdiction if we were making a legal claim. Instead, we are imploring Bioware to acknowledge their mistake and give us a digital good (extra packs or something) since their screw up kept us from accessing their product that we paid a license fee to access. This whole thread is about good will, not legal remedies.

You're not paying a subscription for a service here. Extending the premium packs doesn't sound like a bad cookie to throw our way though, I'd say it sounds reasonable even.

Demanding anything else sounds like entitlement garbage though.

If the power goes out do you call up the energy company and demand compensation for the time you couldn't watch desperate house wives? No because you're not paying for the energy you're not using. They can't help that the system went down but they try their darndest to get it back as soon as possible.

You're not even paying a subscription fee here so you have even less ground to stand on.

edit: darn not d***

Sorry to troll you on this, but...

The subscription fee argument doesn't apply. We all paid $59.99 to access a game that touted single player and multiplayer. The bug, or whatever, kept most of us from accessing that content (that we paid for) for anywhere from 48 to 72 hours. While EA reserves many rights in that warranty, and can change our access to those rights (unless you are like me, an expat in South Korea where limited liability on digital goods does not exist), it still doesn't change the fact that they screwed up, and if they want to keep a loyal customer base, the least they could do is own up to their mistake and throw a little happiness our way. I really don't understand why this is so hard to get?

What is so hard to understand about s*** happens then? None of us even know the nature of the failure. It may not even be their own fault if something like power failure or a downed external network router as the cause. Heck no one can predict when something like hard drive failure is going to happen. Maybe it is US who need to learn to understand that things like this happen and to take it in stride.

Have you ever had an electronic break on you? Could you have predicted it? Has it been for anything important like a paper on a computer? Did your professor then ask you for compensation? Or did he just look the other way and take your paper when you got it ready again without making a fuss?

Its not like Bioware got anything out of having their multiplayer down either, they tripped, hit their nose and knocked your books out of your hand on the way down. They picked up your books and gave them back to you. Now you're asking them to carry them as well to the next class to make up for it. If they offered to do so than yes it would be throwing happiness your way, but asking it of them is tantamount to bullying.

Besides its already working again... For me its been down for 1 day, big whoop (even if it were 3 days it still would be ok, you ppl have to accept the fact that these problems can and will occur and find something else you can do in the meantime, its not like ME3 is the only game or activity out there and if it breaks down then suddenly everything else is pointless).

All they should do is post something like "were sorry, the problem was bla bla, but its fixed now, the commendation packs will be sent bla bla" and be done with this. They owe us nothing more. Screw bonus creds or more wpns, etc, even screw longer time on PSPs (there is still 88 hours left on them and theyll be back in 2 weeks again and then again and again).

lol @ compensation... They have your $$, choose to put a load on their insufficient servers or don't.  They already have the lowest customer satisfaction levels in the industry why would they care if you like them even less?
