EDIT: To everyone trolling, and teling me to go outside.
I am disabled by an autoimmune disorder known as RA and cannot 'go outside' as you suggest since my knees don't bend well while swollen with arthritis. Thanks for that suggestions, my limitations make me so happy.
My wife has Scoliosis, she's nearly in the same boat I am. Think before you troll.
If trolls did that, you wouldn't have created this thread to begin with.

Dragon Nest is F2P and they also borked a few times and gave out rare drops.
Allods online did exp scrolls.
Heroes of Newerth
SD Gundam Capsule Fighters did an event after downtime.
Many other F2P games.
Do I need to google 100 more examples of people getting something for down time?

The point is your life shouldn't revolve aroudn a sinlge game. Housebound does not equal bound to Mass Effect 3.
Find something else to do with yoru time and stop demanding compensation from a computer game.

It is not something you are entitled to and to act as such actually hurts your chances.

What I want to play and what I can play are two different things.
Personally I would like to be farming credits for the PSPs before they are gone. Something I cannot do at this time because of server issues.
Whats so hard to comprehend? Its a suggestion for compensation. Not a demand, not overly aggressive, doesn't have to their first born child.
Just acknowledgement and maybe some bonus credits this weekend.

Compensation ? enough cash to buy four Premium Spectre Packs, full of only ultra-rare items, that would be a nice gesture.
That dear friend would be too cool for Eskimos.

Yeah, Thats what I was going for in my original thread, a light hearted brainstroming thread where we would think fo ideas for a celebratory weapon to be released after the game gets fixed.shurikenmanta wrote...

Well, no need to play the "woe is me" card is all.
If you feel you're entitled to compensation, by all means ask for it.

celebratory wpn for fixed bug? say what now? celebratory item should be given only when there is something to actually, you know, celebrate, like 1st anniversary, buttloads of copies sold, a gazillion of enemies killed, etc

They don't owe us anything.
Play a different game (playing through Assassin's Creed II here), go outside, etc.
Wrong. They either do owe us a working game, or a refund should we chose so. Because selling a not-working product at the premise of it working and then not refunding at the customers sole discretion is fraud.
Just to clear out that misconception of them not owing us anything. If we purchased the product, and it is not working in any way as opposed to advertised, customers are well within their rights to ask for compensation, individually signed agreements with the company are superceeded by local jurisdiction. That said, compensation does not mean "give me moar free stuff or else", but a full refund upon return of the faulty product, just to make my point clear.
That said, when the fix comes, later rather than sooner I fear, it is at BioWare's sole discretion to offer good as a token of good will. If they do that, fine with me.

Also, it's "Inuit", not "eskimo". The latter is a derogatory term.

Smart one its STILL down for pc.
YOURS is down. Mine is not, nor has it been down once since the problems began. Bioware won't be able to really tell who's has been down and who hasn't, so they'll either give a big cruddy compensation to everyone, or none at all.It appears that a great many people are having this issue. It would be pointless to give compensation to those who have had no problem. The compensation should only go to the ones affected.
When LoL has issues, everyone is compensated if there is any compensation at all. Different games I know, but I really don't think Bioware would actually spend the time to go through every player, find out who had issues, and give those people X compensation item. It's far easier/cheaper to just give everyone something, or hand out nothing at all.
Come on this stuff is computerized! They can easily know who has had the problem and flag those people for the compensation. In fact, I suspect it is much it is much easier than compiling a list of the people who successfully completed a certain game mode. Those of us that are having the problem are not asking for money I would be happy with an N7 weapon and a bunch of Medigels. No offense, but since you are not having the problem I'm not sure what say you should have in restitution.

Fair play, the hole ruins the shirt. Take it back and exchange it.
A couple of days of downtime over the entire lifespan of the game =/= ruined.

How is this comparable at all? A steak you'll consume in minutes, a game you'll enjoy for months.
It's more like sending your steak back because the very edge of it is burnt (a tiny bite's worth), when you could just cut off that tiny part and enjoy the rest of it perfectly.
The game will likely be here for some time, is a day or so of downtime really that big a deal to you?
Then get it fixed?HunterKiller_ wrote...

Yeah.
And every customer feels like they're entitled to magical benefits that they AREN'T entitled to, and many customers will try to milk as much as they can out of "customer service" and then get angry when they don't get their way. I know exactly how customer service works, and it's disgusting.

Im pretty sure we agreed to something like "there might be occasional unforeseen technical difficulties which can sometimes prevent you from accessing your content" in the eula we didnt even read, so I think theyve got that covered
also some ppl are acting like nothing can ever go wrong with a game, well it can, get used to it, theyre working on the fix, but thats all they can do, it takes time, so just be patient

As this is digital distribution, the cost to them of offering a one off free commendation pack (considering how long it's going to take to max them all, and that commendation packs don't affect microtransactions directly) would be pretty much nil, so there's really no reason for them not to.
It's this sense of entitlement that many have that's the problem.

I worked in Customer Service as a rep and a manger, I deserve a working game.
Go get a clue, when you purchase a product that promises to do one thing it should do that ONE THING.

Yeah. That doesn't change that if a customer would chose to, they have to refund.
My point was merely contesting the "they don't owe us anything" nonsense. Strictly spoken, what they owe is right now is a fix. One they are working on, so fairgame. Should someone decide it's not worth the wait, they can call for a refund and EA is obliged to grant it.
That's consumer power and as opposed to what the initial statement I answered to implied, it does exist. That's all I am saying.
I'm not going to hold BioWare to any terms as in "give me free stuff or else", but neither did the TO. He's discussing the chance and possible looks of a "I'm sorry, we friends again" gift. That is fine. Not really necessary, but fine (and I'll be damned if they offered one I'd take it!).
But stating a company doesn't owe us anything, is plain wrong.

To clarify. I've had problems with those damn servers ever since Exorcist now and have been completely unable to access ME3 at all since two days. In that time giving my average playing habits I would have collected about 1400k credits I could have spended on PSPs. I am not asking BioWare to give me those 1400k. I don't really feel I diserve them as ... well ... I couldn't play to earn them as is. That however doesn't change the thing that the loss of MP roughly equals the amount of about 15-20 onwards Gold matches that I would most likely have played. Of course I'd like to see just that on my account rather in hypothetical wishthinking.

Then again, this MP is a free addition, so there is no wrong in not having any compensation.
If its a Pay-to-Play account basis, then they should do it.
