I worked in Customer Service as a rep and a manger, I deserve a working game.

Go get a clue, when you purchase a product that promises to do one thing it should do that ONE THING.

Then ask for your money back and forfeit your service.

That's your right as a customer. That's what you "deserve".

Everything else that's being asked for, though? No.

No offense, but since you are not having the problem I'm not sure what say you should have in restitution.

Because if someone/the majority of people are only having minor issues, then they really don't need compensation that's just grabbing at freebies.

People who are having major, major problems like Mass Effect 3 not even starting, or being completely unplayable in any sense I can understand. But if someone says "Wah I've been locked out of multiplayer for 3 days!" while the rest of their game works perfectly, then they deserve nothing more than the fix Bioware will deliver when they find it.

Go get a clue, when you purchase a product that promises to do one thing it should do that ONE THING

You bought Mass Effect 3, and unless it doesn't do anything at all, not even Singleplayer, you're not entitled to squat. Multiplayer is a FEATURE of the game, not the focus. It's like a bonus, you can't take the game back because the bonus stopped working all of a sudden.

And if you bought ME3 just for multiplayer then there's something seriously wrong with you.

The way you word it makes me think that if you car breaks down 3 years after you bought it, you'll go back to the dealer and demand a refund for his horrible product. Or you could just, youknow, go to a mechanic and fix it.

Except in this case, Bioware will fix it FOR FREE.

So if you bought a car and some days it just didn't start, that would be what you deserve? Ok, sounds good. I like my products working.

Impossibru! When you DC, you lose connection with the server. Without the server, they can't get the data.

Didn't read it. Why compensate? $#!% happens.

When buying a game with an online component, you should be fully aware that technical dfificulties could and most likey will occur.

A few days of downtime is not that big a deal.

If it's the fault of the manufacturer. They don't owe you free gas for a month, or new hubcaps, that's for sure.

Funny thing. I once had trouble with my scooter. I don't quite know the correct vocabulary, so I'll have to make due with imaginary description to get my point across.

The cable connecting my gas with the engine once snapped. Called CS for replacement. Said it as a standard piece of equipment that is subject to detoriation, so i'd have to simply buy a new one and get it installed. The thing is, it broke after three weeks of standard usage. Not really what you'd call your normal period of time until something as important as your gas regulator breaking.

Would you concur with their judgement that was a natural process of detoriation as foreseeable in production, or equipment failure and meant for company replacement? What would I have deserved in your opinion?

Considering the amount of money people have paid for this game, they expect and deserve a working product. I can understand multiplayer going down for whatever considering its dynamic nature, but I can't even play single player without getting ****ed at for not having "From Ashes" registered.

The saddest part is, both Bioware and EA have been around a long time. They both should know by now that the only thing DRM does is hurt paying customers.

These comparisons are ridiculous supporting this sort of entitlement....it a MP segment of a single-player game, and it's only been down for...2 days now for SOME people? Get a grip and relax.

This is a good example of someone with an issue that would get legitimate compensation. Actual problem with the game, not HURR DURR MULTIPLAYER DOWN BETTER SUE BIOWARE.

I'll just suspense disbelief and assume you did not read any of the posts of those that have that problem.

It's not just MP. DLC registration fails too and thus we are effectively locked out of SP too. So right now, the product is unaccessable in its entirety for those suffering this problem.

I'd call that broken as broken can be short of causing BSODs upon start-up.

I have the same problem, because the game wont authorize my online pass it wont authorize from ashes aswell, but what the heck, every game with some online features have had some technical difficulties, just look at ubisofts AC and ubiplay or what was that crap called... this is not the end of the world and theyll fix it asap

No, less they muck with the game and its coding the better and giving us compensation would just lead to a new bevy of problems like every update or change they make.

Though you have to admit, more than one day isn't exactly the most common perception of ASAP.

The next two DLCs' were already planned to be freed.

We should just deserve a free commendation pack and victory pack again as well as 25% more credits for waves in-game.

.. that and the commendation weapons buff/foot rub/back rub.

... sex.

well its hard to tell for us when we dont know what exactly went wrong or how complicated the fix is, I mean its not just the fix itself, Im sure they would be done with it by now, but they also have to make sure it wont happen again, it wont screw something else up, etc etc

Again for some people.
The ones that are locked out of playing the game entirely have a right to be upset sure. But this is only temporariy...you can't expect consistant problems. I believe this is the first time something has affected the SP? Crap happens....when you play a game with a online component, expect things to happen.
Though things affecting SP when it's a multiplayer issue isn't my cup of tea, but i'm not upset about it.

But also it's only been a couple days at best.  When it's fixed, the game will be fixed.   It's not broken, it'll be back up and running. Again...making a huge deal out of a problem that has only been around for a short while, for only a portion of the fan base.

They are FIXING IT, I mean that's all you deserve, is a fix.
They are working on it, you don't know what's wrong so you can't really attack them for doing a slow job...they told us several times they are frantically trying to fix the problem.

Whether or not you and I think three weeks of standard usage is an acceptable period of time before a product breaks is irrelevant.  The question you should be asking is did your scooter come with a warranty?  If it didn't, that was a pretty big goof on your part.

Mass Effect 3 did not.

What lessons can we take away from this?  We need to pay more attention to the products we buy as consumers before we buy them.
