... sex.

I would like Harbringer to direct me personally, if you know what I mean

It's not just MP. DLC registration fails too and thus we are effectively locked out of SP too. So right now, the product is unaccessable in its entirety for those suffering this problem.

If that's the case then waaaaay too many people are complaining about only the Multiplayer issues, detracting from the people with the actual broken-game issue.

Also, I can't believe that someone went on about online passes not being free... you do relise 99% of secondhand games WON'T have their online pass unused? That's why you buy NEW, where the pass IS free. If they didn't sell online passes seperate then a secondhand would have ZERO multiplayer. "Why they have an online pass system at all" is a whole other can of worms...

Eww, worms.

Funny thing. I once had trouble with my scooter. I don't quite know the correct vocabulary, so I'll have to make due with imaginary description to get my point across.

The cable connecting my gas with the engine once snapped. Called CS for replacement. Said it as a standard piece of equipment that is subject to detoriation, so i'd have to simply buy a new one and get it installed. The thing is, it broke after three weeks of standard usage. Not really what you'd call your normal period of time until something as important as your gas regulator breaking.

Would you concur with their judgement that was a natural process of detoriation as foreseeable in production, or equipment failure and meant for company replacement? What would I have deserved in your opinion?

Whether or not you and I think three weeks of standard usage is an acceptable period of time before a product breaks is irrelevant.  The question you should be asking is did your scooter come with a warranty?  If it didn't, that was a pretty big goof on your part.

[...]

It came with warranty. They still said it's a standard part of equipment expsoed to detoriation and thus not applicable for warranty.

I have to admire the zeal of the fanboys. It takes some mighty thick rose coloured glasses to support Bioware after this train wreck.

That said, the argument is irrelevant. If Bioware gave us some compensation pack, it would just break the game again anyway.

No, we as players and customers do not need any form of compensation server downtime. Part of participating in a digital online hobby like playing multiplayer video games includes the understanding that occassionally the hardware in place to support these games will not always be available.

Next time you buy a car, make sure they install that lojack system that cuts off the engine when you don't pay on time.

Then make sure the credit company cuts off your vehicle at random and doesn't acknowledge a problem until a large base of their customers complain.

Then they don't say a word while you're sitting at home unable to get to work that's too far away for you to walk there.

Then, when your boss realizes that there's a line of people waiting to take your job and do it immediately AND have a car without your problems lets you know tomorrow that you've been "let go", just remember that customers don't deserve compensation for not being able to use what they purchased.

And when you can't get another job because your car won't start; you're losing your home; your family has bailed on you; and you're standing at the corner collecting pitty money, you stood by your principles and can feel better about enabling corporate america and giving them the respect they deserve.

It's an extreme example to be sure, but points out exaclty how wrong a statement like your's can be.

Which is about the same time you should start giving life the bird and doing stuff to change it, rather than live with it. As should customers. Just saying.

These comparisons are ridiculous supporting this sort of entitlement....it a MP segment of a single-player game, and it's only been down for...2 days now for SOME people? Get a grip and relax.

entitlement....???

I would say that I am entitled to a working program.  However, entitlement has become a somewhat negitively loaded word lately that tends to be used by groups that have little care for any but themselves and their pocketbook.

People accepting Mass Effect 3's MP standard of bugs, server stability and lack of obvious thing i.e text chat, showing ping and other things is kinda intressting to watch...

It was a pleasure to uninstall it and Origin, now if you will excuse me, ill go play Mass Effect 1 <3

"Breaking news, gaming company Bioware is being sued by the family of a gamer whom, upset with multiplayer issues, held his breath until he got compensation. It never came, and he died from lack of oxygen.

In other news, EA is using the event as a springboard to launch their new "Oxygen Mask DLC", which'll prevent this horrible tradgey from ever re-occuring

I used it because others on previous pages have compared this sort of situation to a form of...here it comes again...entitlement.

We all deserve to have a working program, but because this a temporary glitch, which costs you nothing but a little bit of time, why should you need a special something for something that hasn't even been going on for all that long, what, tuesday night?

Goodwill is fine and as a nice gesture for "thanking us with patience" (LOL) would boost up moral.  But...when stuff like this happens and people attack the company and demand goodies because they haven't been able to play a video game for a little while...that just puts a sour taste in my mouth, it's sickening.

my patience ran out about 18 hours ago.

I have been blacked out for 44 hours this week. That's more than a 9-5 work week.

It's not acceptable at this point.

I just relised this compensation thread is actually in the Multiplayer forum, and hasn't been moved, so does that actually mean most people here are actually complaining about multiplayer being down for them or other issues like that?

Really? Multiplayer doesn't work on a Single-player based game for a while so you'd better get compensated?

I wonder if Battlefield 3's Campaign was down for a week if heaps of their players would demand free unlocks as well. This is basically the same situation, and the fact I can even use this example is kind of depressing.

Well Transairion a portion of the PC fanbase has been unable to get into SP apparently.
But because they HAVE to play right now and it's just ruining everything that made them who they are, they need things to make them feel better because they are true fans!

Exactly. There is "common sense" and there is "Looking at something that is completely non-functional and still worshiping the developers for hell knows what reason." We are not talking a missing Commendation Pack or a few hours of downtime here. We are talking about a product bought and paid for being completely unusable for over a day and the only info from Bioware being "Um...We are working on it. Maybe".

If I ever treated a client like that in either the quality of my work or communication I'd be out on my ass within the hour.
