What would it take for YOU to accept the endings as they are?

Brain damage.

If it was the end to another game on the Sega Megadrive say 15 - 18 years ago, would be okish

The $80 I bought the game for.

I'd give them the game back...

AND if only they could use the machine from the movie "Paycheck" to go in and erase my memory of the ending... that too.

They'd need to do that too.

Seeing Im using a portion of my brain to ''speculate'' and ''make my own ending'' ... i would accept a paycheck for doing what bioware should have done to begin with in the act of conclusively ending their own damn space epic series. But alas...

Depends on what you mean by accept.
That they exist? Already do
That they are good at face value? Nothing (even with EC and closure)
That they are IT? Already do
That there is more than meats the eye but not IT? Only if the EC is well done.

I can't. I don't like I T as an ending, BioWare killed off my LI and then forgot about his existence, the universe took a giant crap on my Shepard, and all I wanted was a just death. Destroy the Reapers, save the few she cares about. Instead she got Space Magic. It was like BioWare just had to get one last dig on her.

I wouldn't mind trading in my CE copy for halv-sies.

If they provide the best ending since endings ever existed, I'll consider coming back to BSN when DA3 is released and lurking a bit to see if the ending pissed everyone off again.

Yeah, ME3 was the first game I pre-ordered a Collector's Edition for, they really got me good with their marketing... I regret it now.

Pretty much I'm never pre-ordering a game, ever - collector or standard. I'll wait for fan reviews NOT "journalist" reviews. Even then, I'll buy it new at a reduced price or used.

It reminds me I cancelled my Ninja Gaiden III CE (I'm a huge fan of the series) thinking it would be amazing, I was lucky enough to to do as it got one of the poorest receptions ever for the genre. Now I'm waiting for that baby to drop to 19.99 :)

Serious head trauma. <_<

This ending is unsalvageable. It needs closure, yeah, but more importantly it needs sense and to fit in with the themes of the previous 2.9 games, which requires a total rewrite. That said, anything they do change can't make it worse, at least if the failure of every "the ending would be worse if..." joke thread's failure to make it worse in any way by any poster is indication, so...

Eleventy billion dollars.

Which I would then use to buy Bioware and have them fix the endings anyway.

Then I'd get all the cast together to do a live-action interpretive dance of the whole thing.

do you mean accept as in think they were well written/implemented as is, or accept as in move on and purchase future bioware products.

For the former divine intervention, or major head trauma.
For the latter just bioware actually admitting they majorly dropped the ball as simple as "our bad, that was pure nonsense. we'll do better"

+1

+1 too

What would it take for me to accept the endings as they are? What a weird question. If I have to take the ending as it is and can't change it, it's too late; I don't accept it already. That's just another way of asking how big a bribe it would take for me to stop complaining about it, really. If the question is "What changes would there have to be to the ending for you to like it?", that's something I can answer, but everyone knows the answer to that is to get rid of the Catalyst Kid. (We don't need to find another way to introduce Control or Synthesis; we can just cut those out, too.) Anderson dies, the crucible fires, the reapers blow up, you later have a conversation with Hackett at Anderson's funeral about the aftermath of your choices throughout the games, and then you fly off into the sunset with your love interest at your side. Couldn't be simpler, couldn't be better.

1.000.000.000 dollars in cash.
No.
Make it 1.000.000.000.000. Seems more fair this way.

I've already accepted them. I just greatly dislike them and don't believe they fit into the greater narrative at all.

I'll never accept the endings as they are; nothing BioWare does, short of massive retconning, will change that. I've simply gotten over it, and come to terms with their failure.

^This.  I will never accept this as an *ending*.  It would have been great as part of a larger story (IT) but sucks as an ending.

Cut the synthesis option or explain it rationally (that would be a challenge), replace the current hologram that Catalyst is using with something I can respect, also explain why Joker kidnapped all of Shepard friends and fled, why the hell Sovereign needed to reach the Citadel in the first game and how is it possible that no one starved to death without mass relays. And eliminate hints that the ending is a dream or hallucination. I want a serious conclusion of this story, not some poor thought out acid trip. And give me more background info about the Catalyst, the Reapers and especially about the Keepers.

Ryncol. Lots of.

Or my current headcanon: from the beam on, it's actually the Shepard VI, in VI world, talking to Haley Joel Osment VI as part of some coloured explosion omnitool game. After all, what happens fits with what Mass Effect has been about for the past 3 games with about 6% accuracy.

BW gave us a wonderful universe to play in... I hope they will let us continue to play in it. Even if we can't as our Shepards. I think it's possible for the EC to "fix" the big issues with the ending. Mass Effect still holds a special place in my heart, I hope the EC can begin to heal the wound.

I'm hoping for closure with my Shepard's crew & LI. Reunion with LI & Crew (Shep lives) or Shepard's funeral scene (Shep dies). I'd love a "X years later" scenes showing our crew moving on with babies of their own: Garrus & Tali in her house on Rannoch(sp?), Liara with blue babies, etc.

I'd like to see "Control" split into two: 1- A way to just kick the Reapers back to dark space and let Shepard live. Even if it doesn't destroy the Reapers and 2- Shepard joins the Reapers for permanent control[/b]. (current control ending)

I'd like to see "Destroy" split up too, with high enough EMS you can choose to kill the Reapers and yourself (Thus saving the Geth & EDI) or sacrifice the Geth & EDI to save yourself as it is now.

I'd like to see the Relays saved or rebuilt and a sense that I saved the galaxy.
