I need to know what happened to Shepard/crew/allies/races after the war. I need to know what Shepard (if alive) and LI (if alive) did after the war. What happened with the Geth and/or Quarians. What happened with the cured (or not) Krogan. What happened to the Citadel. The Council What were the effects of my use of the Crucible on the galaxy. Etc. All these plots had definite arcs that we were denied seeing the endings of.

I'm hoping this is what we'll get with the 'closure' of the EC. This would likely get me enjoying the game again.

for me to accept the endings as is, would be an apology from Bioware EA, Hudson and Walthers, and anyone else involved who flat out lied about the game's ending, and the overall rush job that was ME3. Rannoch and Tuchunka were great, so don't apologize for those.

A complete rewrite of the game with: relationships, dialog choices in a wheel that don't result in the same exact responses, consequences for choices made in 1 and 2, a Shepard that isn't a complete unfeeling, imbecile doofus, a game that doesn't follow one arc that then doesn't make a lick of sense if you choose differently.

Yeah.  I reject IT as any kind of alternative; if Bioware runs with it, I'll just be done with Bioware.  The time for them to have taken that dog and run with it was more than a month ago.  That just leaves me with the steaming pile of the current endings, and--I...it...

All options presented are bad.  There's a small novel's worth of writing to describe how it's bad, why it's bad, and what could be done to fix it.  Add to that my unwillingness to grant them respect if they do a complete retcon (they actively wanted this type of ending, and were willing to defend it in the face of a ****-storm--they get some credit for that, and lose all if they back out after) and I don't think they'll be able to make me even neutral on the endings.

I guess what I really want is them to never try and pretend that the ending of ME3 was something good, and to never repeat it.  Ever.  Hopefully they know the approximate 14 objective and 798 subjective ways they completely failed in the structure, presentation, and construction of the endings as they are.

This.
And...
If Shepard dies... Show the LI and crew REACT to it other than smiling (before/after they're rescued!)

Removing the Normandy retreat and crash landing will make me love Bioware long time.  I mean it.  If Bioware retcons the Normandy retreat, I will look past Starchild and all the disappointing parts of the ending.  I cared about the squadmates and Shepard's personal relationships with the characters more than the whole ME galaxy.

The Enterprise E flying in, beaming up Shepard from the freaky control area, hacking into the Reaper control signal then tells them to fly into the sun.

I already accepted them.

liking them? honestly, I'm not sure. reuniting with LI and squad will move me towards contentment, but happiness? happiness (and as a consequence, money spent on future DLC's) will require more fixes then merely the ending. and realistically speaking? the fixes I want.. aint happening. ever.

or in other words EC is deciding the fate of my future purchases from bioware, that are not Mass Effect related. depending on how well it turns out, I may end up giving DA3 a chance close to release date... or wait until its super cheap and preferably bundled, ala DAO ultimate edition.

More variation in cut scenes showing the effect of your choice of space magic. A lot more info about the crew leaving you and crashing. A longer flashback scene maybe showing some key decisions you made in previous games. Epilogues showing what happened to your assets while Shep was on board the citadel and reflecting previous choices. In depth Epilogues for squadmates past and present(mix of happy and sad). Possibility of reuniting with LI if you survive destroy ending. And if you die a funeral scene with EVERY major living character in attendance. That's all I need...

the chance at a happy ending, reunification with crew, Change or explain the Normandy running away, Change or explain the relays, better explain the star child allow us to talk with him, Allow single player to get 5000 EMS without the MP, a proper epilogue but mostly the happy ending one. I don't expect or want it to be the default ending in fact I want it to be hard to get ( within reason IE be able to do it in single player without the need for MP and a Epilogue a proper one.

How likely is this in the EC?

Hm... nothing, really. The endings as they are are really terrible. Even Priority: Earth, because none of your desicions come into play. Or they get two seconds of screen-time.

Getting rid of Star-Child and the Normandy scene and showing WTF happened to the rest of the galaxy and making my choices actually matter would be a start, though. :P

Oh and for the love of God, do not explain why the Reapers do what they do. The current explanation is dumb as hell. If you wanted "speculation" this is it.

To accept the ending?

Reunite with crew, LI, allies. Defeat Reapers and rebuild, or prevent the destruction of, the Mass Relays. Have decent epilogues for each major character and decision. No genocide committed.

Liking them is an entirely different matter.

For me to accept the endings as they are? Myself or someone I care about being lethally threatened, or a whole ****load of money. (I am ashamed to say that my financial situation is poor enough that I can be bribed.) Since neither of these will be happening, nothing.

(Actually, I've apparently already gone a significant way on the road to forgetting that the original ending ever existed. The other day someone here on the BSN was talking about Rodriguez doing something or other, and it took me a good twenty seconds of puzzling before I suddenly remembered that she's NOT in fact dead in Bioware's canon! Bonus points if you know which alternate ending this is from!)

A chainsaw lobotomy.

(I'd be happy with some variation of the Indoctrination Theory, but that'd drastically change the ending by giving a whole new meaning to what we've witnessed. Other than that, there's no way to integrate this clumsy and convoluted graft into the Mass Effect universe; it sticks out like a sore thumb and doesn't really mesh with the rest of the game. Everything that happens after the elevator scene is just a gigantic, incoherent mess, and a "Deus Ex"-ripoff to boot.)

Nothing could make me accept the endings as they are. That's why I'm skeptical regarding the extended cut.

Oh, and let me say I'm disgusted by how many people here have said they'd accept the endings just as long as Shepard is reunited with crew/LI. Plot holes and deus ex machinas suddenly mean nothing to you as long as you get your space waifus and your bromances? Pathetic.

A polished turd is still a turd.

I'm indifferent about the ending, boo hoo.  However, if I got what I wanted, the game would have to be rewritten.  I'd say a retcon of about...55-89%.

If the ending stays as is? IT. Final boss battle with Harbinger, find out tin the real world the Crucible is a dark energy dampener which weakens all the Reaper's armors and shields, makes their weapons weaker and they can't move very fast. They still have ground units like banshes and husks, indoctrination attempts on your teamates [minigame] and Harbinger just lays there while you assault his components with some level of self defense. He keeps insulting you for being insegnifigant while you're shooting his tentacles. Eventually, he starts begging for his life trying to convince you Star Jar was right by tapping into your mind and showing the cycle tat created him. Then you choose to kill him, keep him alive and use him [like the elusive man] or synth him with all humans creating a superspecies to rule the galaxy [evil ending]
