It could be censorship, but it could easily be a matter of tact, time, difficulty and the devs opinion of how necessary such a scene would have been in contrast to the effort.

Actually, thinking about it, Zev should be the one asking for the gimp and should be refered to as Zed, and the MC should be the gimp, since he/she is never refered to by name anyway...

You know, I have yet to have it demonstrated to me how "taking the high road" has actually ever accomplished anything other than making someone feel smug - at least outside of a Kids Afternoon Special T.V. show or a Disney Movie.
Maybe it might not seem like a big deal to a lot of you people, but this type of sensationalist behavior on the part of the media actually does impact me because the Douchebag that owns FOX is the same Douchebag that owns the media in the country I currently live in (Australia) and over here, they do not have the same tradition of first ammendment rights or a classification system for books, or an adult classification for video games.
What does this mean? It means that not only are there video games that you simply cannot purchase over here (unless the developers deem fit to modify them for our pitifully small market) but there are also books that you cannot buy. Yes, people - BOOKS. Books that you as an American or even Canadian can go right up to the Barnes and Noble or Borders and purchase, are banned here.
Now, with this in mind, maybe the idea of "just ignore them and they'll go away" isn't always 100% the best strategy. In fact, I'm fairly certain that the only way to get these people to stop sensationalizing everything is to take away their audience that thrives on these kind of fear-porn scenarios and I don't see that happening any time soon because if one thing FOX News has proven is that people are addicted to their fear porn.
Just another perspective from the other side of the planet.
