Trying to get 10,000+ EMS.

Current EMS = 13250.   N7 operatives are almost 6000.   50 times more powerful than the entire 5th fleet!  LOL

And then you get to the ending and poof.

For me it stops me from getting bored. When I promote a character there is something to work towards, getting back to level 20.

same here and to try new builds..

I only promote if I run out of reset powers. Its a cheap reset, but I play mostly Silvers and Bronze, so it's not much of a team-drag. Relax gaming.

Right??  Hope this extended cut doesn't add insult to injury.

Well, we know it doesnt add any new gameplay in. So that's enough for me to already hate it.

I used to hold off promoting because I didn't really see much point in it unless I was out of respecs and really, really needed to change something.

But now I'm trying to get enough War Assets to clear 5000EMS at 50% Galactic Readiness.

1) Try new builds
2) Challenge myself with a character that's not at 100%
3) Put character cards to use
4) Decrease chances of getting kicked when joining a silver game at level 1

I don't like getting reset power cards. I like trying different builds.

anyone who thinks they found the best build for there characters the first time around are crazy. also if you reup and keep building characters different ways it seems to keep the game more interesting. i don't understand why people wouldn't reup. i keep atleast two level 20s in my arsenal for gold runs but reup everything else.

As others have said, I only promote to try new builds. Although I wish we would get credits everytime we promoted, say 5-10k creds I guess.Posted Image

Because for whatever reason, looking at the tremendous amount of XP you get for finishing a round and knowing that it all went to waste because I'm on a level capped character drives me absolutely up the wall.

I know I'm in the minority, but I would rather grind levels in bronze then grind credits in gold. I know it's all the same grinding, but character advancement makes it more interesting to me. Similar to how I love The Old Republic, and I think it's because my mentality isn't all about the endgame. I enjoy playing all the class stories and learning the ins and outs of the different character archetypes. That to me is much more enjoyable than running the same content day after day, week after week, on my main.

i did it three times. durring playthrough #1 when i was niave and hopefull that doing things in the game would matter to the outcome. then 2 more times for that MP event.

havent done it since. i dont see a reason why i want to be anything less then level 20. and i dont see any reason why im going to play the part of ME3 that puts my EMS into action. theres only one way i make a character so im not interested in respecing to try different builds too.

ive been like level 180ish for what seems forever, and im not concerned about it at all.

Because it's fun and allows me to try new builds without using a reset powers card. It also serves as an incentive to go back to bronze/silver.

why don't you promote? it's not like it's going to kill you is it?

got bored of the current build tried someting different.
messing around fooling gold elitists with a high N7 and only being slightly above average gold player.
but having all guns except ultra rares at X.

can't find a quarian engineer build I really like. oh and then for fun seeing how fast a banshee dies under the geth turrets all damage route with all damage modifiers that would increase it's damage.

oh and sometimes just bored felt like it and then once was like humm that N7 is'nt high enough 670+ now

31 characters, different ways to build and play each character... My question to the OP is why limit yourself to one play-style and build? I Promote and respec my characters, when I find something that is fun I play with it for a while.. but eventually I want a challenge back in my game and start from scratch.

I promote, because I find fun in facing adversity.

my question is, why are you so worried about everyone promoting?
is it because deep down you really want a high N7 too?

i play the game for fun, i dont let the game play me by worring about the credits.
so if i promote 900 times while having fun, why do you care?

It helps single player, keeps multiplayer fresh, and allows for new builds.

I see no problem with it at all! I just wish you could level up past 20 now and then, and reset at any point after you hit 20.

This is my reason as well.

My friend with over 2200 says he would hate to lose all the xp. Makes sense in a weird way...

Someone performed inception on me and now I have this idea that the higher your N7 rank the better your odds of unlocking rares and such from the packs. Apart from that, the character cards become an absolute waste if you are at lvl 20 and full appearance options so it would be like getting a rare pile of **** encrusted with golden corn for your time.

It keeps the game alive for me, allows me to respec characters the fun way without having to waste a "random" slot in packs, and allows me to experiment with classes and characters I don't normally play. Those I keep traditionally for Gold play (Infiltrator, Adept, Engineer) I usually don't promote unless I need to respec and don't mind playing a couple bronze and a handful of silvers.

I'm only in the lower 300s...and I don't play that often.

But really, does it matter if other's promote? It's like with the whole FBWGG. Does it matter if people found an easier, in-game way to finish a gold match and get credits?

I don't see why people don't promote.
Just using a bunch of level 20s is a crutch.

Seriously, my N7 rank is 180, and that's because I promoted 2 in order to get a Commendation pack in one of those events.

I just don't understand the appeal of grinding more and starting it over again.

Some people just find it fun. Working with a limited character and slowly building them back up.

I also like playing as a "builder" in the Civilization games.
