I like these, but that last one seems infeasible for the devs. That would require a complete restructuring of the way the map works. Perhaps have stray shots from the battle overhead? Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest SOB in space after all.Chaotic Loon wrote...
Other random game weather/environmental events during matches could include...
Sandstorms on Firebase Giant, Blizzards on Firebase White - impairs player vision.
Power blackouts on Firebase Glacier - lab lights go off, character flashlights come on.
Reactor overload on Firebase Reactor - vent pressure at various locations within time limit or everyone dies.
Taurian ships crashing on the map on Firebase Condor - watch the skies or risk getting crushed.
I'm sure there are many more possibilities on these and other maps...

I thought Indoctrination Field would have been one of your teammates would be controlled and be shooting at his own teammates.
Or maybe it reverses so that you have to play it to attack your own teammates! Aiming on "enemies" won't target, and any attacks on them becomes harmless friendly fire, but you still get XP for attacking your own squad. Who HASN'T wanted to do that at some point?!?
Beg your pardon. It's a thought in progress.

Hack objective, only light source is your flashlight.
Similar to the Monastery.
Edit: Oh well seems like that was already said multiple times. Well consider this as a +1

Heh, that's part of why I included it. If you're on top of your game, you can kill the engineers pretty easily either before they set up the turrets or as they're setting them up. That event ensures that you come across surprise turrets. But it does depend of difficulty how many show up.Jonathan Shepard wrote...
Some of these would be ridiculous on Gold. The Expensive Hardware one wouldn't really be too fair though; turrets are already enough of a nuisance! Other than that, most of these put up a good challenge. Approved.

Maybe some more less painful ideas? Like a drop that gives unlimited ammo for said 20 banshee wave, or something, just to even it out. Cause imagine if you get surrounded, and have no ammo.

Random Boss Encounters: Each faction has a boss character that may randomly spawn during a wave on at least Silver or up. These boss characters are the most deadly enemy you can face, and will deal the players some serious pain. If the player has an objective, the Boss Character will try to interfere as much as possible, such as undoing hacks, nodes and guarding targeted enemies.
Bosses for factions are as follows:
Cerberus - Kai Leng
Geth - Geth Infiltrator Platform
Reaper - Harbinger
