Hey EA and BioWare-

The one thing you can do to annoy me more is giving me useless advice. I paid extra for the DLC, and now I can't play the game. Bizarrely, if I'd given you less money I'd be fine, and the same thing goes for the ending of the game- the more Mass Effect you play, the more issues you have with it. But let's park that concern.

Directly punishing paying customers is going to end up with the servers being switched off sooner rather than later, because no-one is going to buy your games any more. As such, can we have a guarantee that we'll get a patch before the servers are turned off that makes sure we can still play?

Those guys at support are less than useless. I wouldn't bother. Just wait for BioWare to release an official fix.

Pisses me right off that I can't play a game that I've bought & paid for. Seriously, W.T.F.!!!

Time heals all wounds. This one agrees though.

The support staff is useless.
Atleast that is how I feel after being in contact with them a few times now. They don't even do a standard troubleshooting with the customer, just copy paste something and say that should fix the issue .

Still, being told with no context that in order to fix my game I should manually uninstall it was pretty hilarious.

If your looking to play single player and if you have origin, sign in as offline in origin, and just don't connect to the EA servers, assuming your stuff was activated before all this mess anyways. just worked for me. =\\

Yeah this hit all my friends and myself today, and even a peep from EA?

All I can say is hammer kotaku, destructioid and all the other game sites with this. Its the only way they'll ever acknowledge and fix this issue otherwise they'll probably just sweep it under the rug.

I was told to go into Origin, right-click the ME3 icon, and select "Repair Install".

5 minutes later, it completed.

BAM!  I can get in the game quick and easy.

Same here.... sucks that the only people affected seems to be the ones that wasted money on teh DLC and unlocking packs. I know I did...

That does work, thanks. I don't use Origin for anything else so that should be fine in the future.

Still- we shouldn't have to play the system just to play the game. This DRM is just plain offensive: what was likely a basic programmer error has ended up with a great many people unable to play the game. EA / BioWare seem to be doing all they can to make people hate them.

It's a great game hampered by a pathetic, nonsensical ending. But all the EA crap surrounding it has taken it from great-yet-flawed to flawed and unbearable- day 0 DLC, forcing people to use Origin, a multiplayer model that highly encourages people to pay real money in order to get ahead, a single player model that all put forces people to play the multiplayer, and so on. They then add a shocking lack of communication, and when they do communicate, they do it through gnomic PR statements.

Example: the ending fiasco. They tell fans that they are listening, and thank them for their 'passion'- which just sounds like a code word for "being batsh*t insane". They then make another press release which entirely ignores the legitimate concerns that people have, claiming that people want 'clarification' and 'closure' when actually they want to murder the Starchild.

And then they completely ignore what I said in my support ticket and send me a robotic response that doesn't work.

If they don't sort their attitude out I won't be buying any EA or Bioware games again.

The team are still working on this and gradually more and more people are getting in without issue. I'm going to tidy up some of the many threads about the same topic and redirect further comments on the main thread here.
