Xbox 360: Traynor sucks at being a Yeoman

She's completely silent. I only found this out by playing the game with Subtitles enabled, it'll be a brief blip of "Traynor: Commander Shepard there's trouble on Truntonka" and it's only on the screen for about 2 seconds before it goes away.

And that sounds like a bug. There are various instances where dialogue doesn't fire for whatever reason. Gabby and Ken, for example, won't speak unless Kaidan is dead.

There are not words enough to describe how much I hate that bug.Random Jerkface wrote...

Anyway, Traynor > Kelly.

I know that's what she's not but I notice while gaming that she doesn't even warn you of action that needs your assistance.

This is actually a sound bug, it isn't that Samantha Traynor sucks at her job it is more a case of Bioware Q&A sucking at their job. How on earth they missed the fact that quite a few times in the game characters are actually meant to be saying something but there is no audio is beyond me.
Thankfully the team that did the subtitles were a bit more "on the ball" so if you are playing Mass Effect 3 and don't want to miss dialogue then you are advised to play it with subtitles on.

anyway charlie I dont think Q&A sucks at their job, but the fact of the matter is, no matter HOW many testers you have, bugs are going to pop up regardless.
it happens, its software.

Who needs QA anyway?
Reminds me of...I used to work in one of the worlds largest manufacturer of mobile phones. God there was lots of hassle and talk about quality. The joke is, there was no real quality, and it was made impossible to make quality. There was no time, and if you found something not working, it took ages to get fixed because of bureaucracy. In the meantime, tons of failed products where shipped and sold. So, the more suitmen talk about quality, the less you will get quality. And that is why I laugh when I see BioWare defending their quality and dedication. There is none to be seen.
I think this is what happens in many companies when they get big enough.

But most of the places I've worked in quality is a big deal (i've dealt mainly in automobile manufacturing plants)
and sure as with all things with even the hint of electronics, there can be issues (as with ANYTHING mass produced really there's bound to be a few problems here and there) but far and large most everything was made quality.
As for laughing at a company for defending their quality and dedication, things start getting intoa gray area when dealing with a video gaming company as peoples opinions on that are VERY subjective.
Just because something comes out below someone ELSES standards doesn't mean a dev team wasn't dedicated to the task of releasing the game. Sure there were faults in ME3, but just judging by SOME of the content you can tell at least a portion of the dev team was dedicated to making the game as good as they could.

I believe you, as when it comes something like automobiles there are lifes at stake. They can't afford to overlook quality. But when it comes things like phones and yes, video games, it is not dangerous to take the short road.
We were told over and over again that making TOO GOOD quality is expencive, so quality must be limited. Quality is good enough, when people still buy. To cover that, make tons of paper work about quality and hire tons of people to hassle with that paperwork, and at the same time, don't allow workers actually do that quality. Yes, that company is not doing well anymore, people did notice their products don't work. So, next cell phone they bought was not from that company. It took few years before their short sighted strategy started to bite them in the arse, but now it bites and hard.
Why I say this is that when I played ME3 I could see how there was only what was absolutely necessary. Making quality is expencive, and so much corners were cut I almost couldn't believe I was playing game from same company that made ME1 and ME2. I could see the same strategy I had witnessed before. This is EA-strategy, I'm sure: short production cycle and cut expences by not making TOO GOOD quality. If people buy it, quality is good enough. Quess what will happen to next BioWare game. I have witnessed this short sighted strategy before and it never ends well.

OP, do you happen to have installed the game? For some reason, sound seems to bug out a lot more frequently when running off the HD. Which is bloody annoying, as the load speed decrease is handy.
This i can confirm. It seems the trigger for the conversation happens faster than the audio can be played, so it fades out just as it starts.

Normandy Laundry Room:...Traynor, we just got all your underwear down here again today.... Sopping wet again...what gives?
Traynor:... I took a few showers today...Played a bit of chess with the commander, if you know what I mean
Normandy Laundry Room:... You know Traynor, most people take off their underwear before they shower

I've played on the PC but I can't imagine there's a different Traynor on the Xbox. Has to be a bug.

I played the pc-version with subtitles on, and did not miss dialog at all. So it seems to be a bug in XBox-version, not poor Traynor sucking at her job. She told me about every mission.

Fixed that for you
But as for Traynor, it's just hard to hear what she has to say sometimes... It's safer to keep the subtitles on just to hear that she has quests for you.

This also works for Ken and Gabby/Tali and probably anyone else with ambient dialogue, if for instance you haven't been talking to them after every mission, you can walk back and forth to the elevator to trigger all their dialogue until they don't have anymore.
