Don't know if this helps anyone but i was to able to access my singleplayer with the DLC when i disabled my network card (ie Internet connection). Just throwing it out there...

It lets me play, but after Mars mission on new game I realized I didn't have access to any of my digital deluxe perks, my knight reckoner armor, etc.

Perhaps DLC can only be used on existing characters? I used an already created character that still had his particle rifle.

I set Origin to offline mode and the character I created the other day was able to complete the Eden Prime mission today and my older character has access to Javik and all the bonus weapons and armor I have.
