if EA decides to, at some point in the future, shut down their ME3 servers (like they have done with other multiplayer games in the past), will we at least retain access to all the DLC we've purchased/acquired for ME3 single player?
what will happen to multiplayer in this scenario?

The single player shouldn't be affected if they decide to turn off multiplayer because its a simple verification server that is probably tied to all their other games that use that type of verification, I think there are four BioWare titles that use that type of authentication. So unless EA or BioWare disappear I think single player won't have a problem.
My speculation is Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer just uses the EA servers match maker and they don't host the games so I can't see it going away, but if it does people will still be able to try to solo the multiplayer parts of the game for the game will be on their local computer.
