I don't expect this to be seen but I feel like dumping some thoughts here.

Ever since I was sorely disappointed by ME3's ending (or rather its lack thereof), I was sort of mulling over what BioWare could possibly do to redeem this atrocity.

I am absolutely against any talk of retroactively changing the ending of the game through DLC or patches; sure, it may save the game's story, but think of the precedent it would set. Artistic integrity, a dying concept in today's video game market, would be all but dead after such a thing. What's more, I doubt the Extended Cut nonsense will make things especially better (though I don't feel it will make things worse).

In my opinion, the only way BioWare could redeem the ending and maintain my respect is through the release of an entirely new Mass Effect game; but even then it's tricky, since the series is long and dry enough as it is. So I got to thinking, and I figured out a solution that would probably make everybody happy:

Expansion Pack. Like Dragon Age: Awakening. A nearly-full-length addon to Mass Effect 3, explaining the effects of Shep's choices throughout the series. Imagine playing a mission or two as each of the fan favorite squad members, as they deal with the choatic aftermath/continuation of the Reapers' invasion, and finding/rescuing/killing/otherwise encountering Shep in some fashion.

I would personally hope that something like this would drive a stake through the heart of all this Indoctrination Theory nonsense, but hey, if the story is writen well enough it could even serve to neither support or deny IT.

I guess the only real problem with continuing the Mass Effect series at all is that the ending of ME3 was designed to have as many meanings and implications as audience members, so there really is no canon (and by extrapolation no actual ending). But if I was hired by BioWare this second this is what I would immediately push for. Jussayin'.

Let the flaming commence?
