Yes, I know there is a thread  already but I would like to gather any info for the MMO in one place. So far here is the leak of the 19 page article on the Elder Scrolls MMO with a lot of info!

Scans are here

First gameplay look is here!

Notable features
  • Able to explore Skyrim, Morrowind, Sumerset Isle, Elsweyr and Cyrodil.
  • Three player factions from distinct regions.
  • "hubless" design questing
  • "Focus on making each point of interest a self-contained module"
  • Estimated 120 hours to reach level cap with each faction having it's own set of leveling content
  • Phasing technology will be used like WoW does to show our decisions in the gameworld
  • "The stamina bar is the fulcrum around which the entire combat design revolves"
  • Cross class combos ie: a rogue throws oil a mage sets it on fire and rogue whirlwinds to cause fireballs
  • Having stamina can prevent secondary effects such as being staggered or slowed
  • Mages, Warrior, Thieves and Dark Brotherhood will be present. Able to learn abilites from each and join all them all
  • Fully voiced MMO. Old Republic watch out!
  • Public dungeons will be in! Everques and DAoC fans rejoice!
  • Finesse will be a way to activate "ultimate abilites" which is earning by performing well in battle such as interrupting spells or blocking a dangerous blow
  • A.I will be worked on extensively. Archers will take defensive positions, mages cast spells from a distance and fighters try to hold the line
  • Cyrodil will be an open pvp area with Imperial City and fight with Molag Bal's daedra
  • You can become Emperor but it serves no purpose other than bragging rights for now
  • Heroic mode of small scale instanced dungeons
  • High level public dungeons
  • Instanced battlegrounds but also open world pvp with some of the larger pvp allowing for 100 versus 100
  • The MMO will use the same topography to build the Imperial City and the provinces
  • Fast travel with wayshrines. You can teleport to from wayshrine to one you have aready discovered but you can't just open the map and instant travel
  • Wayshrines also serve as a place to resurrect if you die
  • Mundus Stones function like Skyrim's Guardian stones offering a permanent buff
  • Constellations appear in several more forms through the Tamrie ie: a puzzle room at the bottom of ancient ruins
  • 250-person developement team is composed of MMO veterans and Elder Scrolls fans most notably Matt Firor of Mythic's Dark Age of Camelot and someone from Origin Systems (Ultima!!)

Zenimax has created a very talent team their experience ranges from Ultima Online and Dark Age of Camelot which have some of the best pvp ever to other titles like Tabula Rasa and Star Trek Online.

Have to say I'm impressed by who is working on this project and fully voiced? Doesn't look good for TOR.

The Hero Engine same one as Old Republic here's hoping they waited for it to be finished before working with it unlike Bioware.

It sounds like its missing everything I play an Elder Scroll game for. Which admittedly would be difficult to put in an MMO. So that leaves us with a pretty standard fantasy MMO setting.

So not too excited yet. But we'll see.

Sounds more like bad news for GW2, if you want an action MMO that's probaly what you'll be playing by the time this releases and the description of the combat in the article (scan #10) sounds very similar to me.. enough so that it may not even be worth jumping ship if this turns out to be sub-based.

Anyway, doubt I'll be trying it, I'm not a massive fan of the TES setting anyway, and if I really wanted something like this I'd go GW2. I don't, really, but that would be my choice of the two.

Well how about that, almost looks like ES Online makes better use of Hero Engine than TOR does

Edit: same link, whoops

I'm very interested in the development of this.

I'm not a big MMO fan, but I'd play this because its Elder Scrolls.

I actually think this has potential. The team working on it seem to be capable and they've been working with BGS to keep consistency in the lore and design. The graphics are a little too cartoonish IMO, but still look pretty good (I like the redesigned alit/kagouti and ordinator images).

I think a lot of people are being too pessimistic about it being "the end of SP TES". It's being made by a studio specifically set up to craft MMOs while BGS will continue to make SP games- Todd Howard himself said that he isn't so big on MMOs. And neither will it eclipse the SP games- Skyrim was a significant commercial success, it would be stupid for a studio that has been successful in creating SP games to turn to making MMOs.

Good looking, that's about all I'm seeing as a plus side right now. I doubt this will replace the single player games, but it does look to be a meh game at the moment.

TOR suffers from a lot of problems and I could list them. I have no idea how good or bad this MMO would be but just looking at some members of the team sure has me interested.

Can you elaborate on how this will work?

- Heroic mode of small scale instanced dungeons

- High level public dungeons

So when your leveling up in a traditional MMO you find instanced dungeons throughout the leveling experience from say 1-80. Usually once you reached the max level you would never return to a lower level dungeon because you would't recieve loot, gear or any improvement. A heroic dungeon scales up to the max level and offers loot for max leve characters or just  more of  challenge.

I have no idea if ESO will be a sandbox or themepark MMO so I can't tell you exactly how gear will be handled so it could be different. Although I assume this is going to be a sandbox.

A public dungeon is well in the name. An open dungeon where people can meet up no instancing whatsoever you simple walk in like you do in a dungeon in Elder Scrolls.  A lot of respawning enemies, no max player limit and a great way to meet other people with out having to group which is a good for the more antisocial players.

A new character teaser trailer has been posted on GTTV.

I think there will be some gameplay footage posted later today as well, since there was a presentation on the GTTV network.

Zenimax Online is making the MMO I assume Bethesda Softworks is going to keep making DLC and SP games.
