If I ever subscribe to the game, it probably won't be until after they've tweaked crafting, at least a little.

The crafting system was one of my favorite features. The progression is fun because you have to put a lot into it in order to become a master blacksmith or whatever. It's nice to make stuff for friends and it was a pretty cool feeling when I learned enough traits so I could finally use the best secret crafting workshops.

The only thing I'd change about it would be to add more of it, for example, poisons and jewelry making, etc.

I agree with you. I won't be subscribing. It's not because I don't think ESO is good, it's just that I paid $60 for Skyrim and enjoyed 350 hours of gameplay over the course of 2 years.

To accomplish the same thing with ESO would cost me $420. For $420, ESO would have to shoot rainbows at me while I play, that fix problems in my life! xD

I'd wait for a price drop to about $30 then sub for 2 months.  That's 3 months of play  including the free month that comes with purchase.  I agree with your vids, the game looks cool but meh.

I agree about adding that stuff!

What I like about it is what it appears that I'll be able to do - eventually. I like the idea of being able to improve my favourite piece of armour, instead of replacing it. I like the idea of multiple styles, and all of that. I just don't like that I'm such a long way from being able to do anything practical with it. If it lags behind the loot from missions too much, then it becomes an end-game skill, and I'd hate to see that happen to crafting. I consider it too big a part of the game.

Alchemy, by contrast, is practical very quickly. In fact, I found myself overloaded with useful foods, brews, and potions! xD

After taking 2 weekends to learn enchanting/tailoring/blacksmithing/woodworking, I just gave up with crafting and said "To hell with alchemy!".

Skyrim's crafting is just a thousand times better.

Skyrim is hands down my favorite game, but I disagree on this. I found the crafting system in ESO to be a lot more fun.

The fact that it takes longer than 2 weekends to progress and find all the racial style books, find items with traits for researching and become a master enchanter, etc., is awesome, that's exactly what I liked about it.

After playing 3 betas I gained 1 level in both blacksmithing and tailoring. And yes I was grinding while quests were screwed up from bugs. I see your point with it not being as easy to level but if it takes forever to gain 1 level, people are just going to say "screw this" and find something else to do.

If I remember correctly, when you finish one sides story, you are aloud to go to another side and play that story regardless of race but I do not remember if this was conformed or not.

And how long is each side's story?

Well seeing how it took me 3 beta tests to get half way through the Summerset Isles, I'd guess moderately long so that people will still do PvP which I think will probably be what development will focus on if they indeed do micro transactions.

Roughly equivalent to Oblivion and Skyrim?

Probably but this is not Bethesda. This is Zenimax so anything could happen in the final product.

There are so many skill lines.

That is a very good thing. The more the merrier.

However it can be overwhelming.

http://esohead.com/calculator/skills

So many questions:

  1. Is there any point on using both Restoring Light (from Templar) and Restoration staff? Or would this be a waste of points?

  2. Is there any point on using both destruction trees from Dragonknight/Templar/Sorcerer as well as using a destruction staff?

  3. Can you do a decent build only using class skills?

  4. Can you do a decent build without using any class builds?

  5. Is stealth a viable option during player versus player?

  6. Is vampirism a viable option?

  7. If you turn into a werewolf will you have any control over transformations, or do you automatically transform when the full moon is out and remain werewolf till the break of dawn, then have to wait a month for the next transformation?

  8. Is it better to specialise in a particular playstyle (healing, ranged dps, close quarters combat, tanking, crowd control etc) or is it better to have a mixture of the various roles?

  9. What is the maximum amount of points you're likely to have after 20 hours of gameplay? (so that I can plan a build).

  10. Are there any redundant skills?

Verdict's in.  Unlike IGN's review, this one's more believable

Thou hast copied my post! :D

I agree, AJ's review seems to be more balanced.

Ignore the scores and read the actual reviews.
If you do this, you'll have a much better idea of the issues and praises of the game.
Then you'll have a much better idea of whether or not you want to purchase the game.

Pretty much sums up my view on MMO's in general.

Elder Scrolls VI isn't coming out for a long time.

However, Elder Scrolls Online is the current Elder Scrolls game.
Zenimax is obviously going to bring expansions, patches and new quests to the game.

How could Zenimax improve? The list can be as long or short as you like.

Zenimax could improve by dropping ESO completely and have Bethesda make TES: VI.

Okay. Other than give up the MMO altogether, any suggestions that could improve the game?

I was going to get this for console but it was pushed to December. I'm wondering how much steam it will lose on consoles.

ESO sucks on PC what makes you think it will be better on a console?

Opinions have been mixed on the MMO.

I haven't played it though.

From what I hear there are a few things to like.

The big scale alliance versus alliance siege battles.

The flexible classes that allow you to equip any weapons/armour whilst being distinct.

The crafting system.

Having the races from the Elder Scrolls series.

I played a few betas and they didn't inspire me to sub.  ESO is a blemish on the franchise.

Look at Josh's review and how he almost chokes up at the end.
