They really told great things (like every MMO developer :P) i hope they can deliver.
But one thing holds a great interest for me, one of them guys told we can choose from Vampire and Wereeolf perks? Sounds awesome if they do it right!

And yeah Skelter, one server is a huge plus indeed.

Looks like their inhouse engine will not only see a performance increase with Quad Core CPU's but also have a DX11 renderer for Vista and Windows 7

It's great they realized a new engine would be necessary and they are not sticking to the Hero Engine like TOR.

Dude... that s*** looks epic. I might need to seriously reconsider ignoring this game. I'll keep an active eye on it henceforth, and if it continues to impress, I may very well end up playing it.

Saw this earlier, looks really nice. :) Looking forward to playing it myself.

Also, I found this post from 2007 which "confirmed" the existance of TESO way back then. I wonder if it was a real leak?

I'm the same this game is shaping up very well. Especially the open world PvP given that WvW has become my favourite part of Guild Wars 2.

How will the 1 server work? Sharding? Do we know how the open world battle for Cyrodil will work in conjunction with it?

There are instanced campaigns and you can flag certain grouping options depending on your preferences for PvP etc.

Will I be able to take every spoon I see, and be lynched by entire towns for my spoonthievery?

I mean, really, without that, how can they call it Elder Scrolls?

I was sceptical, but now I'm interested, if still wary...

+ public dungeons (which I hope means "contested", "shared", "open" dungeons)
+ TES style combat (as much as an MMO allows it)
+ DAoC-style PvP
+ the graphics look much better than what I thought it would look

...

Interested.

I can't believe how stupid this is:

I always regret subscribing to MMOs, they look great then become boring, they're like paying for the privilege of having a second job, every 6 hours spent in game feels like 6 hours of unwholesome waste of life, I think however much I play them I am just someone who prefers a single player RPG or an online FPS but not an MMO grind... HOWEVER...

This looks EPIC, and I am probably going to get sucked in and subscribe. Wonder how that's going to work out, then.

You know if there was one thing I thought Elder Scrolls really needed, it would be the "legendary heroes" outnumbering the common folk and the environment resetting so Farmer Nord never loses his need for twenty skeever tails

OK, I'm going to role play as a farmer and sell my crops and dairy goods to other players.

Yep I really hope it's not about grinding like most MMOs and we can just do our own thing and explore the world without worrying about leveling up or finding overpowered lootz, etc.

I think if an MMO didn't really manage to keep your attentiion, you probably didn't meet the right people. MMOs are as much about the people as the game itself. I think that's also one of the reasons SWTOR didn't do so well. I really hope TES Online isn't going to be yet another bunch of singleplayer gamers trying to play an MMO like a singleplayer game.

Don't get me wrong, they can do what they want. It's just a shame for both the people who want an actual MMO because the community will be cold and unfriendly (only joining groups to ninjaloot gear for soloing), and it's a shame for the singleplayer crowd because there's no way MMOs are as good in singleplayer as an actual singleplayer game.

Note: This is not a doomsday prophecy. I am just hoping it becomes a proper MMO, that's all.

Don't get me wrong, I've tried a few, and I did find one where the community fit me, played for a long time and even ended up leading a decent guild - but even that, they always resolve down to this unwholesome, boring grind in the end - and if the combat, content and pve aren't good/interesting enough to balance out the pavlovian reward system, it just becomes like too many hours spent pulling the arm of a fruit machine.

An Elder Scrolls game could possibly be the solution to that last issue because it is basically the content and pve of a fantasy game made good enough that you still play and enjoy even when it's getting repetitive - done right,TES single playert could be a good solution to those problems, the missing jigsaw piece.

Again, high hopes, spend money, but it will probably turn out to be a Generic-Fantasy-MMO-With-Knobs-On in teh end :D

Well, no MMO escapes the grind in the end simply because there isn't enough content in the world to keep people satisfied.

This is why sandbox MMO's imo are so much better. The fun is created by the player just like in the single player game. If you feel like dungeon diving go ahead or if you want to craft to your hearts content why not? I'm going to give TSO a try since well I try to play any and every MMO I can but sandbox are just so much better.

You probably said that in jest but I want the option to do that. Running my own shop in Star Wars Galaxies was awesome. :crying:

This might also entail the rest of the game, but how big will Morrowind be compared to how big it was in TES 3? I get that the landscape will be different, but will it still be the same size, and have a similar layout? – By Ryon Burridge

he Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
takes place on the northern island of Vvardenfell. In The Elder Scrolls Online, you’ll get to explore Morrowind’s mainland and see areas you’ve never seen before, or haven’t seen in to the level of detail we’re presenting it in. One such area is Deshaan, the region of southern Morrowind that borders Black Marsh. That’s not to say adventurers in The Elder Scrolls Online won’t ever be able to visit Vvardenfell.

Any bets on how long it'll take for this one to become f2p?

My guess is it will probably launch f2p or b2p, perhaps with some kind of premium subscription option.

I'm liking the sound of this.

Zenimax wrote...Are many changes being made to Skyrim to make it differ or stand out from the Skyrim we have recently come to know and love? If so, could you detail some of these changes? – By Brandon DonioThe Elder Scrolls Online is set 1,000 years earlier than Skyrim, so you may notice that some of the ancient Nord ruins are a little less worn and weathered than in Skyrim’s time. You’ll also find towns, like Nimalten in the Rift, that are gone and nearly forgotten by Skyrim’s Fourth Era, but are alive and thriving in ESO’s Second Era

Something I'm learning, sadly Guild Wars 2 is falling victim to it as well.

That is something every themepark MMO will face at least with a sandbox you can make your own fun.
