Obviously this changes a bit as the
sequels progress. Once you bring geth into the picture Tali starts advocating shooting people just to be safe and covering up war crimes and drops down the scale a bit, and Liara, as we've been discussing, goes full red. Ash mellows out a lot whether you paragoned her or not and climbs a bit, though not as far as the other two fall IMO.

I don't recall Tali ever advocating shooting people (well, optional-kill people, that is); also you mention geth, which she becomes more paragon in her view of over the series, not less. And I recall revealing the evidence being the Renegade choice, not hiding it.

Yeah, that's because the choices are ass-backwards in the trial. Couldn't have paragons doing something that would hurt their war assets, now could we? Doesn't change the fact that hiding a war crime so your crewman likes you better is a pure Renegade decision - self-gain and the current mission over principle - and revealing the truth is a pure Paragon decision - adhering to justice and the rule of law even when it hurts you.

Also, Legion is people.

I'm curious about your Council experience - is this with either Liara or Kaidan romanced? My ME1 experience was always that Kaidan would take the more aggressive, practical position when Liara was around, but I never said anything to try to influence their worldviews either.

Hmm, one could see it as Tali being willing to sacrifice herself for the good of her father and the fleet (given that turning over the evidence causes political instability), which comes across as being more Paragon. Also Paragon Shepard doesn't show a strong commitment to "justice" every time he/she allows a dangerous criminal to just walk away, so there's that as well. Although you do still have a point...

I think it's safe to say that the P/R system is wildly inconsistent at best.

Also, I don't believe handing over the evidence hurts your War Assets, so I'm not sure where you're coming from there.

And I'm told that if you took that choice in ME2, in ME3 Tali will end up forgiving you and saying that it really wasn't the wrong choice after all, so I'm not sure how that all works out. It's all rather confusing.

Also, Legion is people.

I don't recall actually being told to shoot Legion. Regardless, ME2 Tali is, if Shepard picks the right option, willing to share non-classified fleet data with him, while in ME1 never shows the slightest trace of geth sympathy, so I'm still not seeing the drop in Paragon-ness from one game to the other here.

No, I was surprised too. I expected Liara to tell me to save the Council. but Kaidan did instead. There was also no Shep-influencing going into this at all.
