I agree that it sucks, but the game is still fun to play (assuming you are playing with friends and not randoms). I'd just stock up on credits for the time being. I do agree though, it's extremely disheartening to blow close to 5mil and only getting one Ultra Rare (in my case). That's a LOT of hours played for virtually no rewards.
Without new game modes or factions, the fun is kind of played out actually, especially when you can't really unlock anything anymore because the RNG is either broken or you just have really crappy luck. By the way, have you maxed out all your Rares as well? I'm really curious to see if there is truth to this rumor that that kills N7 drop rates. The last time I got any N7's was when Resurgence had just come out and I didn't have all the rare guns from it maxed yet. Since maxing then out, nada.
If you dont think the game is fun anyway, then what do you want new weapons for? They wont make the game anymore exciting for you.
If you honestly cant play for fun, then i thinks its time for you to move on.
Unlocking stuff is a major part of the fun of this game. When that disappears so does much of the fun. And the moving on thing, was kind of the point of my original post. Without new modes or factions and the seemingly impossible prospect of unlocking any more N7 ranks, I'm done for the time being.
If you cant find any fun beyond unlocking things, then you should just sell the game right now. Because even if they release an N7 pack, the games only gonna last another day while you unlock all the weapons.
This didnt really warrent a thread. Was it just to have a bit of a moan?
No what isn't warranted is your BS response. Unlocking stuff is a major aspect of this game and its apparently broken, at least for a certain portion of us. Seriously, don't be such an ****.
Dear Bioware, I think I'm done until you release an N7 pack.

This works both ways. You constantly trolled the OP long after having anything new to add to the discussion when you could have just walked away. That in addition to spamming the thread with lines and lines of multiple quoted replies. As such I reported you for trolling and spamming, just so you're in no doubt who it was if you're contacted by an admin.

And apparently now there is a rumor that once you have all your rares maxed N7's actually drop much less often. So Bioware, you need to put in an N7 pack, and until you do so I think I'm done. The ultra rare system you have in place is terrible, terrible joke.
I've maxed all Ultra-Rares and i'm fine. I will never ever make progress again, i play just for fun. Maybe you should try it out too?

Space Hamster Pack or no deal earth clan. The SHP would include one random space hamster (or character card for existing space hamsters in your collection) and other possibilities such as an assortment of helmets, space boots, tiny hamster gloves, and even mountable weapons on their back.
These space hamsters would serve a vital role in the Galaxy at War model already in effect. Your hamster will appear with you in multiplayer menus (to show it off to the less fortunate Batarian races whom ironically look like hamsters themselves) and depending on unlockables mentioned above will offer a small subtle passive bonus to you in gameplay. A morale bonus. This could be +2% extra credits earned for the squad upgradable to a max of 5% depending on your unlocks.
Other passives/hamsters include:
+4% extra experience for squad (upgradable to max of 8%). *Shepard Hamster (complete with n7 armor)*
+2% movement speed increase (max of 6%) *Beserker Hamster*
+2% extra damage to biotics and force (max of 6%) *Hamster Adept*
+ tiny change to chill/freeze targets (much less effective than cryo ammo). *Siberian Hamster*
and more!
Additional unlocks might include hamster vehicles such as miniture models of the normandy, maco, asari cruiser etc which your hamster rides on top of.
Make it happen bioware and watch your customers come crawling back!
I'm still laughing from all the awesomeness of this post.

The whole part of playing is for fun, if I had all wepons unlocked because i could buy them with "monopoly money" then what? Yes I want a valiant, my son has one and i'm jealous. but I'll have fun playing in the mean time, looking towards that next pack where it might drop for me.

Everybody loses interests and stops playing eventually. The critical question is: how long do they stay, and how many new players keep joining up. These are the two factors that determine how many people play are playing the multiplayer at a given time. It's not the same people playing multiplayer all the time; it's a dynamical balance of veteran players losing interest and quitting, and new players starting to play the multiplayer. The rate at which these two opposing effects occur, determines the balance population of the multiplayer at a given time.
The current system makes people who primarily play for the sense of progress quit sooner than they otherwise would. There is no progress in getting nothing but character cards, so they play less or quit. Nobody plays this game just to unlock black rarity weapons, since the grind is on a Zynga level and would require around 84 million credits or $2200 to max them out. These people would quit eventually anyway, sure. But everyone quits eventually. If they kept playing long enough to grind black rarity weapons at 180k or whatever a pop, the multiplayer would always have more people on. The fact that these people quit after maxing out Gold rarity weapons has a knock-on effect on the playerbase in general. Other people might play just to have fun, but if less people on their friends list keep logging on, they will reconsider as well.
Most arguments against a black rarity weapon pack boil down to "I don't like people who play just for the sense of progress". But you have already lost, why do you think there are unlockables at all in the multiplayer? Why do you think every multiplayer game these days has an advancement system instead of just having everything available like in Quake?
The current situation is not making Bioware any money. Nobody is dropping $20 on a 1:2 chance of maybe getting one weapon unlock. People might drop $5 or $10 on a black rarity pack. This is the real reason why there will inevitably be one eventually.

Well it seems like Xbox 360 LIVE multiplayer has the exact same players playing gold only. When ever I search for a game and play I constantly see the same people ..... So it already has a small player base. Why make it smaller by giving us N7 packs right away just so the completionists and get the guns to x then go sell ME3? :innocent:Achire wrote...
