Dear Bioware, I think I'm done until you release an N7 pack.

What they need to do is add useful things to replace the training cards, like more consumable, maybe different armors and customization stuffs, new mods, things that make you feel that most of the packs you buy was worth. But the ultra rares MUST have a low drop.

What's the point in X'ing everything if you are just going to stop playing instead of using them?

+1 to that one.
I've spent 90 euros on BW points for the packs to get some weapons quickly when I was starting in mp, wish I didn't do it. Now most people will go "OMG NOES REAL MONEY YO DUMB STUPID", if you're not worthless and have a decent job in this day and age - money is not an issue.
Why I wish I didn't buy the packs is because I'm running out of stuff to unlock.
The journey is the fun, exciting part - not the destination. And by buying/farming the packs you cut time off the journey.
Leave the N7 packs as they are now, so people will keep coming back to the game on weekends and the playerbase won't die out so fast.

This thread is about black (N7) rarity weapons. Black Widow, Paladin, Talon, Saber etc. Not the weekend event weapons N7 Valiant, Crusader, Eagle and Hurricane.
The fact that you are running out of Gold rarity weapons to unlock is precicely the same problem that the OP already has. He is asking for a realistic way to unlock black rarity weapons, i.e. to enhance the longeviety of the multiplayer for him. I can see people coming back to the game for the cool weekend events. Can you see people coming back to the game just to grind an average of 1.2 million credits for one weapon unlock? Does that sound likely to you?

Having maxed out everything other than the N7 weapons I have now gone through 40 straight PSP's and 20 straight SP's without a single Ultra Rare. To say that this really pisses me off would be an understatement. I have spent over five million credits on nothing but character training cards I don't need, and feel like I'm making zero progress. And apparently now there is a rumor that once you have all your rares maxed N7's actually drop much less often. So Bioware, you need to put in an N7 pack, and until you do so I think I'm done. The ultra rare system you have in place is terrible, terrible joke.
I've maxed all Ultra-Rares and i'm fine. I will never ever make progress again, i play just for fun. Maybe you should try it out too?
Pretty hypocritical posting this. I bet if you hadn't maxed your UR'suou wouldn't be posting that. Likewise havin everything maxed gives you a different perspective. Just stop.

The whole idea of a ultra rare is to be... uh, ultra rare, right? If we could unlock it easily, what's the point?

Except that isn't the point. The game does not reward you for playing more after a certain point. It's a complete crapshoot and you are almost penalized for maxing everything, by having a theoretically lower chance of gettin the only weapons you still need. If you don't think spending 3 million and getting nothing but character cards kills the fun, you're a liar. It's stupid and it shows the obvious flaws in the system. There needs to be an N7 pack that gives people the option to get things they don't have. Price it at 500k, hell even a
Million is fine with me. Just give me the damn option!!! It's frustrating and ridiculous to play for that long and earn that amount of money and has absolutely nothing to show for it.
Open your eyes.

I farm FBWGG occasionally because I want to get all characters (still missing the Krogan Soldier and Geth Infiltrator ATM), besides I quite enjoy these farming matches, constant grabbing and spamming BEs is fun. I also play for fun on bronze and silver. If I get bored one day, I'll stop playing. I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about.

Since when is MP about maxing out all weapons? For your sake, it sounds like you should move on.
When you've played it more than 10 times it becomes simply about the equipment treadmill.
The "Just play for fun." or "Why doesn't anyone finish missions?" arguments don't have a leg to stand on.
The only point of the multiplayer after a very short period of time is to acquire more gear, which becomes virtually impossible as the OP mentioned due to the character cards continued appearace and obscenely low drop rate on ultra-rares.

Honestly I agree with Bamford .... If you're playing just to unlock stuff and they give you an N7 pack to unlock them then ..... You'll stop playing after that anyways. So erm yea either way you stop so does it matter?
Everybody loses interests and stops playing eventually. The critical question is: how long do they stay, and how many new players keep joining up. These are the two factors that determine how many people play are playing the multiplayer at a given time. It's not the same people playing multiplayer all the time; it's a dynamical balance of veteran players losing interest and quitting, and new players starting to play the multiplayer. The rate at which these two opposing effects occur, determines the balance population of the multiplayer at a given time.
The current system makes people who primarily play for the sense of progress quit sooner than they otherwise would. There is no progress in getting nothing but character cards, so they play less or quit. Nobody plays this game just to unlock black rarity weapons, since the grind is on a Zynga level and would require around 84 million credits or $2200 to max them out. These people would quit eventually anyway, sure. But everyone quits eventually. If they kept playing long enough to grind black rarity weapons at 180k or whatever a pop, the multiplayer would always have more people on. The fact that these people quit after maxing out Gold rarity weapons has a knock-on effect on the playerbase in general. Other people might play just to have fun, but if less people on their friends list keep logging on, they will reconsider as well.
Most arguments against a black rarity weapon pack boil down to "I don't like people who play just for the sense of progress". But you have already lost, why do you think there are unlockables at all in the multiplayer? Why do you think every multiplayer game these days has an advancement system instead of just having everything available like in Quake?
The current situation is not making Bioware any money. Nobody is dropping $20 on a 1:2 chance of maybe getting one weapon unlock. People might drop $5 or $10 on a black rarity pack. This is the real reason why there will inevitably be one eventually.

I look at it this way if all you're playing the game for is just to unlock everything then you'll stop but you threaten to stop because you can't unlock everything immediatly then either way you're going to stop and therefor your own point is now null and void. If you're playing to unlock everything then continue playing then yes by all means go for pattitioning for a pack that makes unlocking the N7/Ultrares easier. That was the point of my post .... I have no clue what you're going on about with this whole progress bull crap :innocent:mrcanada wrote...

Ah sorry there, thought it was about the promotional weapons because.. u`know.. they actually have an "N7" in their name.
Anyway you can't possibly think that making 7 ultra-rare items accessible will provide logevity to the game. If you'll be able to farm them out through a weekend or two, what's the point? Then you will truly be in a situation - I've unlocked everything possible, there is nothing to do with the credits now.
Current system is providing much better logevity. I wouldn't mind cutting down the RNG in some way tho.

You say play for fun? Not having anything to show for hours and hours of playing is not fun, no definition of fun covers that. Most of the people who are usin the fun argument haven't even maxed their rares!!! Come back when you have guys, I'd bet money you are singing a new tune in two weeks.
