If you really go get the objectives and revive your team-mates you are FAR from rubbish. I wouldn't pay much attention to the scoreboard.

Scoreboard doesn't mean ****. Support roles do a ton of work and pretty consistently score lowest. Sounds like you're a decent-good player.

Yea, but most players tend to look at the score board, and initially think you're an idiot for coming in last, even if you do rez and objectives.

Don't worry I'll protect you as you revive the true noobs that are truly crap. At least you're being helpful.

If that's your attitude, you'd be welcome in my games. But then again, I'm not all that great myself.

You capturing the objectives and reviving you team mates means that they can play as slayers. Your helping you team a lot more than you think. You are playing to your strengths which is good.

Bollocks to the scoreboard. Winning is more important than ranking high.

I'm lousy too. I played MP last Saturday for a few hours on bronze, only made the extraction once (and even then, I didn't get out--the fourth member of our team was running towards the zone and started bleeding out, and I ran out to save him but there wasn't time), but I enjoyed myself.
Saw a couple names I recognized, too. That's always fun.

As long as you help to win the game, you're an asset.
I'd much prefer the guy who runs around the map reviving people and achieving objectives than the guy who tries to get at the enemies first, then gets himself killed, uses up his medigels because he doesn't wait to be revived, then dies in a spot we can't get to because it's defended by turrets and right in front of an Atlas or something.

As a person who usually scores high, I prefer that anyone below me sincerely tries their best and tries to operate with the team. That's the critical part in Co-op, team outcome, not individual ones.

From my point of view, scoreboard means nothing it is all about teamwork, objectives and communication so if you go mainly for objectives then you are not bad.
Bad kids are people that run around and just go for score because they are 'Good'

Ya know, I think my best toon is a Human Engineer... followed closely by Asari Adept. Not that I'm great or anything, just with those two characters, I feel like I don't suck THAT bad and can actually contribute something to the team effort, as opposed to being a total dead weight. I try for the objectives, try to cover teammates doing the objectives and try to get to downed teammates (unless otherwise occupied with objectives - can't be in two places at once, as much as I'd like to).
And every time I promote those classes I'm constantly amazed how much I suck at lower levels. Whenever I catch a rocket with my face or cuddle up with Swarmers, can't help but facepalm and every time I take a dirtnap, I feel really horrible for sucking so bad, resulting in one of the team having to come and rez my ass. I'm supposed to be doing the rezzing, not the other way round! Thankfully, those horrendous levels of being a dead weight are blessedly brief.
But I keep at it because it's fun and I enjoy it (am actually very surprised at that, because I didn't think I would enjoy the MP, as it's usually not my thing). And am constantly trying to learn something about... well anything really. class strategies (trying to learn a few classes but I make a horrible Vanguard), combos (still trying to find better weapon/class combos to improve my toons and maximize their effectiveness while complimenting my playstyle), adapting quickly to unknown variables (generally like to go unknown/unknown both for the added bonus as well as the surprise), trying not to suck as much, etc.
I suppose the scoreboard is nice and all (can't help but get that warm & fuzzy feeling on those very few occassions when I come in 2nd or even 1st, as it gives the impression that I actually made a difference, contributed to the team and we ROCK!), but I have learned not to bother too much with it (the scoreboard I mean) because I KNOW for a FACT that there are WAY more skilled players out there than I. And you sound like just the type of player I'd love to be on a team with Gasht.

The funny thing about the score board is this...
I've noticed that those who run about dying many times (like at least once per round) also have the highest scores. So take that for what its worth. The score card doesn't reward smart or good play.

Part of the reason you're so low on the board is the Assist wards aren't calculated like they should. Instead of splitting up points based on % of damage dealt the lion's share often goes to the person getting the kill. I know I've more often then not yonked a 1000+ point kill out from under people who've nearly killed Banshee's and Atlases with one shot from a Carnifex. Not my intent but when your firing like a mad man at anything that moves... these things happen.
So don't feel bad about a low score or coming 3rd or 4th. Now if your scoring 1/3 points of the guy the spot above you... then somethings up. But if your doing objectives, reviving, and getting lots of assists that's unlikely.

I've played with some really, really good players who made for a lousy team. The lack of team play bores me and I usually just go on auto-pilot when that happens. Or I run off on my own and do my own thing (not how I usually play).

Thats because you stop shooting baddies and run across the map to revive em. People dying in the opposite corner i just leave there knowing that id probably end up dead aswell on the way to them. They are just not worth risking a medigel on.
