Just one more person who played me 1,2 and followed closely the mass effect series and finds the ending we have to be somewhat of illogical. :(  Although Totalbiscuit has not bought me3 due to being on a boycot because of the "From Ashes" day 1 DLC, he watched it on youtube and then went on to learn what all the commotion was about. He then talks about it on his daily "mailbox", that and the comment from Ea about not caring for the opitions of those who are not game developers.

He just one more, and we are many, Hold the line!

ps. there are no spoilers in the video.

You just negated the entire point of this forum's existence.

The point of this forum is for us to discuss things here, not to name-drop and think that makes one's point valid.

Interesting, and Ea's boss saying he only cares about opinions from people that make games seems to be something like that don't it?

Nice job diverting the issue.

The point is, what makes this TotalBiscuit person's view more valid than anyone else's? Nothing.

Well, I don't like the endings, and my view is more valid than others, being the continual font of reason and logic that I am, so there we are.

Year's of experience as a gaming journalist, tons of contacts and direct knowledge from hundreds of game developers, of tons of different companies, and maybe his 240.000.000 youtube views have some importance and are there for a reason no?

I'm inclined to disagree, because in the end, what a journalist does is opinion, and with something like this (a creation), there's really no person more valid than another, other than other creators.

But nevermind I suppose, go ahead.

if you please take the time to watch the video, and discover that he actully watched it on youtube and went on to research the matter without buying the game, you might have something constructive to say :D

Did you read what I said to the other person up there? The point of forums is for people to discuss things, not for people to point fingers and say, "He thinks it, so we're right!"

As you so clearly did in the OP and title.

Who destroyed the purpose of journalism? The purpose of journalism isn't to tell people certainties, like what your OP seems to be about. The point of journalism is to provide additional options, additional points of view. The point of journalism is never, never, to say, "X is bad and you should feel bad." the point of journalism is to say, "I researched these things about this, and this is what I feel. Take it or leave it."

Well, objective journalism anyway.

...Or at least something as constructive as the opinion of man who basis his opinion purely on the opinion of others, without ever experiencing the object of said opinion, which coincidentally is also why I hate unicorns.

All of these things, while surely important on their own, have no relevance whatsoever for the ability to objectively judge a narrative and have your judgment possess a pertinence in the same.

That would be like saying that since a person has, for example, 10 years of experience in rally that should be reason enough for the guy to have a somewhat relevant judgment on painting.

Expertize must be correlated to the thing you have experience upon to have some relevance.

well you beat me to it.

I care very little for TB and won't watch his videos because he is a waffler. He took 20 mins approx to say the same thing over and over again whilst we were expected to watch completely unrelated footage of Tribes.

I think that makes him quite a pain in the ***
