Speaking of sitcoms, ME3's MP was plugged on 30 Rock last night.

I apologize, people. I was at school and working for the past several hours. I didn't realize my post would cause such...debate.

The simple fact is, if you accept the Catalyst's logic, the endings make sense. If you don't then they don't.

Thing is, there's no particular reason TO or NOT TO accept the logic, so we're at an impasse. That's what I meant by "there's no proof."

Sorry to revive this, but I didn't want to just vanish after so many replies.

I have to agree with some here. Being a game journalist is less about actual journalism and more about editorialising what you think is a good gaming experience. They are no more journalist than movie and food critics are.

As for the YouTube views? That doesn't mean anything, have you seen how many views the lowest common denominator of videos get? It just means he shouts loudest from his soapbox. Being loud and being intelligent usually are mutually exclusive. No one person's opinion is canon law.

This goes for a lot of the threads on BSN recently as well: if he hates the game and endings so much why buy it? Why play it? Why continue to play it? Maybe you're just pissed about the ending because it's end fanboys.

Ps. It's "supposed to" not "suppost"

You're my hero of the hour right now. Can't say I like the endings, I found they lacked closure but then hey, it's only a game right? It's neither the be all nor end all of existence and will fade as soon as some other injustice rallies the fanboys to irrelevant spouting of pseudo-wartime slogans and fist shaking. Whatever makes you feel relevant.

Oh and The Big Bang Theory is terrible. 30 Rock slightly less so

Ehh, I don't like the ending, nor does he. I guess we have something in common. Although I think a lot of people miss the point. If the ending wasn't so poorly executed and the game felt of rush, I doubt there would be such an out cry. Even I, probably wouldn't want it changed then.

I think we have to hug now...it's like we reconciled the whole debate...case closed.

And if the game felt rushed maybe there were market forces (read: fans shouting for it) along with EA pushing it. So perhaps the ending is YOUR fault for pushing for a release before its finished and then not being happy. Maybe your expectations were so high no ending short of what you envisioned in your mind would suffice?

TB pointed out that he thinks one ending is completely illogical, from watching his video I believe he was talking of the synthesis ending. He was talking about EA in general and how they should listen to what their buyers are saying.

I wouldn't say he hates the ending. He never stated that.

Side note... Uh nope. Ad blocker ftw.

If you use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox you can download adblock extensions. I don't know if mozilla has an extension "store" that compiles a lot of extensions, but Chrome has one.

Why should anyone here care for his opinion when he didn't even play the game? His is opinion is invalid he didn't even experience the game himself and is going off of youtube video and comments made by others. He doesn't even have any perspective at all for this game since he boycotted it. I didn't agree with his boycott mainly since his boycott made others pirate the game (I know he doesn't support it but unintentionally did by his viewers commenting on pirating the game), he could have got the game and didn't purchase Ashes dlc while still making his point, and he comes off as a total know it all who seems to jump the gun a lot even when he does research. I do enjoy most of his vids though just not any he has made on Mass Effect lately. If you are going to boycott something I don't think you should be able to comment on it afterward.

Interesting, and Ea's boss saying he only cares about opinions from people that make games seems to be something like that don't it?

Nice job diverting the issue.

The point is, what makes this TotalBiscuit person's view more valid than anyone else's? Nothing.

While I am a big fan of TB, he's actually said the exact same thing many times.  His opinions are and viewpoint are not more valid than anyone else.  He says they're more impactful, but it's in the same way anyone on TV, etc has a more impactful view, because more people see it.  It doesn't make it a better view, it just makes more people see it and thus it has a bigger influence.

I don't feel like he comes off as a know-it-all.  He's opinionated, but that's different and part of his job.

His boycott was fine, the entire idea of this huge push for Day-One DLC to milk money off of consumers by not including the entirety of a game is growing fast and getting ridiculous.  He has ever right to refuse to purchase games from a company that does that if he so desires.  He also has every right to tell people he's doing it and suggest they do as well to discourage the practice by companies.

He's not the only one who agrees with the issues created by Day-One DLC.  I read the same thing at Forbes all the time.

I didn't say he never had the right where did you get that in my post? You totally went a compeletly different direction with your post. I simply said I don't agree with anything he did or said about Bioware or Mass Effect IP. I suggested that he could have still purchased the game and not buy the dlc while still making his point. The only thing if anything I said that was negative in the long run to him is that his opinion on the game in general is invalid since he never played it and he is acting like he went through the whole experience when he just watched videos. I in general don't like how people put him on such a high pedestal and treat his word as law or that he some kind of journalistic apostle.
