Sooo I screwed up.
I made changes to several ini files and deleted my backups by accident. Nwn.ini, nwnplayer, and nwtoolset. The toolset is working fine, but now NWN won't launch.
Can someone copy and paste their original nwn.ini and nwnplayer.ini scripts please? I'll give you a cookie.
I did something to my nwn.ini and now NWN won't open

Hmm, I am not a home so I can not paste.
You could try to run nwncfig Or what ever it is called and see if it fixes it.

I tried that, didn't fix the problem. I think nwnconfig only alters the nwconfig.ini file.

Nope, guess it wasn't my nwn.ini. Maybe the nwnplayer.ini. Do you have that one?

I seriously doubt the player ini will prevent the game from starting but here it is for what it is worth. Note; I have inserted the text "xxxxxxxx" wherever my personal information would appear. All server-specific information has also been deleted.Snarkblat wrote...

If I were you, I would simply delete clean and reinstall the full monty from scratch. Locating a single corrupt byte among all the game files is like looking for a certain needle in a stack of needles. This sort of trial-'n-error method can be more trouble than it is worth.

If you delete an ini file and launch the program, a new ini file with the default settings should be created... at least some software will do that, can't say for sure about NWN.

Thank you for all your help, I guess I'll have to do a full re-install. Out of options.
*sobs quietly*
I'll let you know how it goes.

I can't believe this. I uninstalled NWN, reinstalled, with the critical patch, and it STILL will not open the game. I can still access the toolset though.

Okay I think I have it working now! I disabled sound in the nwn.ini and unchecked compatibility settings on the nwnmain launcher. For some reason that did the trick. Hopefully it stays fixed.

You have Video Card incompatibility, I had this problem before...
Disabling sound may have done it for you (alone)...
