I had been waiting for the new patch before starting a new game as a thief however after i spoke to Alistair in Ostagar he didnt join as he was supposed to.
I used the console commands to move the game forward (zz_addparty) but i've had the same problem with morrigan and dog. I've also noticed they dont leave the party when they should for plot purposes.
It was ok with the console commands up until dog but now whenever i talk to him he goes through the joining conversation and teleports me back to the path i met him. (like the Shale bug)
anyway to fix this?
party members not joining after patch 1.02

or could it be the toolset? I had a tinker with that after my first playthough but i was just getting a feel for it and didnt actually edit anything.
Also Soren? (i think his name was) worked fine in the city elf origin.

the toolset is a known problem yes.

Go to "My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Modules" and rename (or delete) the "Single Player" folder there.

yep, override folder fixed it. I dont know how much damage has been done but at least its playable again. I forgot how much other stuff hadnt been working until i got it fixed.
Matt i installed it after my first playthrough and forgot it was there since i havent played in about a month waiting for the new patch. Still even a warning is no excuse for how severely the toolset breaks things.
Thanks for your help Gebut!

fair enough.
it is enough of an excuse. even with a perfectly functioning toolset its VERY easy to break your game. its simply a powerful tool.

well the thing is i never actually edited anything, i just had a poke around to see how it worked so i had no idea it even saved/changed anything.
I do plan on adding content to the singleplayer game since a whole new module seems like too much work at this point in time and it kinda sucks that modders cant play their game while they're working on a mod.
