Im having problems with my game crashing to a Blue Screen. Both expansions installed. Im patched to Version 1.23.
My Computer is a Dell StudioXPS 7100
Windows 7 64bit
ATI Radeon HD5670 1GB I have the latest Catalys Driver 12_4

This is part of what the NWN2_errorlog said:
Error occurred at 5/4/2012 07:42:44.
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Atari\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\nwn2main.exe, run by Keith.
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Atari\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\nwn2main.exe caused an Access Violation exception in module atiumdag.dll at 0023:630ccfee.
Write to location 005ca328 caused an access violation.

Any ideas why this could be happening and any ideas for a solution.

Thanks in advance.

What did the BSOD itself report?

I'm not sure. How would I find that information after the fact?

You get rid of the stupid Windows default setting that auto-reboots before you can read what the Blue Screen messages are. You can look that up on any of the ten thousand places on the 'net that tell you how to get it fixed (the reboot isn't the game's fault). No one running games on PCs should allow Windows to do that, for just this reason.

I don't understand your aggressive response to my question. This is the NWN2 Technical Support forum. I had a support question.

That's just how Gorath is.

atiumdag.dll points to a driver issue. Your card might be overheating as well, nwn2 is not exactly efficiently coded.

try lowering the resolution for and playing for a while. if it doesn't crash, your video card is probably overheating.

I lowered the settings for shadows and most everything that said it might help performance. Got just under an hour of playing before a BSOD. This time I got a different access violation in the NWN2 error log. Error occurred at 5/5/2012 13:48:14.
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Atari\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\nwn2main.exe, run by Keith.
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Atari\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\nwn2main.exe caused an Access Violation exception in module nwn2main.exe at 0023:005c6e67.
Read from location ff970a5c caused an access violation.
Starting to think maybe I wasn't meant to play NWN2 on this computer.

That's the next step then..ugh. Do you think it matters where the game is saved? It wants to put the game in the Program Files(x86) I thought I saw something about older games shouldn't be put there?
