I gave this a go last night just for the heck of it, and I have to say - it works, very well in fact.

It doesn't drop the bosses quite as fast as this thread might indicate, but it definitely drops em pretty quick.
Atlas and Primes really fast, Banshee's a little slower.

Thanks for the build astheoceansblue :)

No problem. And I meant in relation to other things when I was talking about speed, I'm pretty sure this ranks as one of the fastest way to drop them for a single character, though. It's dat P.Mine debuff and high ROF, sickening.

I'd really love to see a chart for how quickly certain builds can drop certain mobs solo, I might work on something like that at some point... be interested to see just where this ranks.

Oh, don't get me wrong, this build drops bosses plenty fast, even when compared to the "big hitters".
It can drop an Atlas or a Prime faster than I can do it with my QI or SI with BW.
Now GI with GPS X might be just as fast, but also almost just as risky.

Like you said, this is a "fun" build, and a nice change or pace.
On a side note, this build doesn't live more by the ammo crates than a BW class does (even with ammo mod).

does the hurricane actually benefiit from full rof stuff for marksman? because the geth plasma smg doesnt as far as im aware, they both already shooot so fast, they dont SOUND like theyre shooting faster with marksman

Glad to see others are having fun with this and the Turian Soldier is being a loved a little more. It's not that he was lonely before, but he didn't feel his efforts were appreciated.

Job satisfaction is good for the soul.

It does, it just doesn't sound like it as the rate of fire increase isn't marked by a change in sound effect.

Tested without heatsink to keep the numbers secure:

Without MM clip empties in 3.8 seconds (approx)
With MM clip empties in 2.2 seconds (approx)

Bear in mind I was timing this on my phone and it's not 100% accurate, but it's pretty much where the numbers are. I'm not great with maths, I'm sure someone could give an easy formula to show this accurately.

This works just as well or better with the Geth SMG.

except for the fact that the hurican does alomost 10 times the damage per shot of the gethsmg

RageBattle wrote...

You don't even need to use Marksman except for bringing down bosses faster. I don't take the RoF increases as it makes the gun kick more unless I just imagine it.

Marksman(with accuracy) is also really good for mowing down standard enemies at mid-long ranges as well. It lets you get those headshots, which drop them instantly.

The only thing that annoys me to fight is banshees, they're so thin that you have to use marksman to actually hit them reliablyat safe ranges. It's a small thing, but still annoying.

stupid banshees being tougher than brutes despite being all willowy...

Bump, because apparently people don't know this build is actually good. I'm a casual gamer, and I make no claims to greatness, but I can do pretty well on the meaningless scoreboard with my 60666 Turian soldier for FBWGG farming based on this build and strategy. That said, I was just kicked from a lobby for FBWGG with said soldier. Never mind that the level 10, N7 level 17 human infiltrator in the same lobby was left unmolested. Seriously people, this works. It's good. I'm not a good enough shot to guarantee to the haters that I'll top the meaningless scoreboard every time, but geez, I can hit the broadside of a geth prime, and the hurricane is pretty awesome with some stability help.

Hurricane is never gonna be as effective as a Carnifex or GPS. The damage is just too low. The only useful SMG i find is the Geth SMG - and even then u still have to spend the whole mag trying to kill ur target (unless of course its a husk)

Sorry Teabag, but if you truly rate the Geth SMG and think the hurricane is bad, then I can't take your opinion seriously.

Also: results speak for themselves.

No offense, but it is painfully obvious that you didn't try this build - which makes your comment kinda...well wrong.

Also, you grab ANY class you want with a Carni X and ill grab this build right here, with a Hurricane I and I promise you, you will never EVER beat it.

You know what man, i've changed my stance on this weapon in the past couple of weeks.

I see it as an average weapon rather than a crap one. It's good but you need consumables for it to be good. I've been tearing asses apart with my turian build reapers and primes have been going down relatively easy, but still, it was all due in part to the consumables. You can't call a weapon a beast if you need consumables for it to be great. SMG amp III and AP ammo or incendiary = beast.

I still think the Hornet is better, at least i've always felt the hornet is more reliable.

infiltrator is a better choice because of the stealth dmg bonus

The only reason I'd take Infiltrator over Turian is the damn roll... Give Truian Soldier Roll and he'd be my favourite class. I guess it's the price you pay for stability.

Anyway... I prefer superior shields and steady retical. but whatever works. :)

Not for stability. It is for reach.;)

I have a 6/4/4/6/6 build just because I like the variety (not a power-player, I'm in it for the fun) but I can still rock gold pretty decently and on silver I can even carry the team a bit. The Turian soldier is awesome with the Hurricane.

Super, that would be fine on Gold too, I just prefer to specialise than spread.

This is still my favourite way to play MP. SI, I still love you though.

Why Duration over Headshot Bonus in MM?
Originally I ran with both Headshot bonuses, one in MM and one in Veteran. However, as MM is primarily used to take down enemies that either have hard to hit heads (Brutes) or no areas that accept head damage bonuses (Atlas, Banshees) and have larger health pools, Duration makes much more sense.

I'm sorry, but I just have to point out: Brutes don't accept head damage bonuses, either. Currently, Primes do, but that's not intended, and may be fixed down the line for all we know.

IMHO, your build fails for not having the proximity mine LVL5 debuff. Too important to miss.

Well, it doesn't exactly fail as I fare just fine with it :)  But it'd be interesting to see the influence if I shifted the balance a bit towards the prox mine. I went for the CS force/damage increase for the increased stagger -> CS is really good for saving your buddies' butts; staggers banshees pretty well too. I like CS for the range and accuracy, but in close quarters I usually go for the PM, but usually just to regain some control of the situation (of course like this the PM is less effective against brutes, atlases etc. but there are usually others who can take down armor quickly). But like I said, you might have a point there, I'm not an expert in skill nuances.

Just see no point in CS - too busy hacking proxymines even to turn on marksman

Ahh, of course, it's any exposed area on Brutes that you're supposed to aim for.

Amending OP now.

Brutes, like Banshees and Atlas, do not have any "weak spots" per se. Banshees take the same damage no matter where you hit them, Atlas take some extra damage if/when you destroy their protective plates, and Brutes take reduced damage if you hit their armor plates, and severely reduced damage if you hit their honking huge arm.
