It's almost disgusting how much attention Bioware gave to Liara and how she can't die like all the other squad can in ME3.Tirigon wrote...

Based on Tali's face, clearly humans and Quarians can have children because the Quarians are basically humans with glowy eyes and fake wires tattooed/photoshopped onto them.

if not then you fail genetics forever
I am referencing/expressing my dislike of the stock-photo photoshop job they did for Tali and all Quarians. I was under the impression that they looked far more alien than they actually did (or at least that Tali did not look like a supermodel). That was lazyness on Bioware's part, plain and simple.
Agreed.
The Quarians should have at least looked as alien as the Asari, if not more so. Now the Asari actually look more alien than the Quarians, particularly with the improved skin textures in ME3. The quick editing of a stock photo was incredibly lazy on Bioware's part.
(not my Shepard)
Liara doesnt look alien to me... well unless alien is "sexy" in your language:wub:

Probably. The quarians, just like the asari, are supposed to be placental mammals, so...Gaurthurt wrote...

When you look at life through an artists lense, you don't focus on limits or boundaries.
Hence why I can paint things that don't exist, why Picasso can do things like melting clocks, why Goya can make devilish scenes in his paintings."
Er ahem! Fellow painter/art history major here; Picasso didn't paint melting clocks, Dali did.

But ME has a "hard sci fi" theme. Almost everything is explained throughly.

Yes they can have kids.
Only if they adopt.
It is basic biology. Two species who are completely unrelated to each other would not be able to reproduce with each other. They would be genetically incompatible.
No they can have biological kids.
Mind explaining that? Because Humans and Quarians are completely different DNA and Quarians are dextros. It is impossible to reproduce.
You can't explain it, same way Asari make mind babies. It's sci-fi, don't bring your scientific jibba jabber into a game that allows space magic and molecule reconstruction in Synthesis ending.
If it was logically possible, we would have seen some more Quarian/Human couples in the Mass Effect Universe. And the only human relations I've seen are Human/Human and Human/Asari.
Nothing else.
There's that one guy who's getting steak for his dextro girlfriend, people have theoried that she's most likely turian as it would be harder for a quarian to eat steak
Also, both genders of Shepard have had non-human/human and non-human/asari relations

They were really trying to sell her as the "canon" romance. Screw that! Tali FTW!
Liara is hardly unique in that. Garrus, Vega, Javik and Joker can't die in ME3 either. Tali has also been a squadmate in all 3 games, whereas Liara has only been a squadmate in two.
While fans of some of the ME2 romances might have reason to complain about the level of attention their particular favorite characters were given, fans of Tali do not. She has a lot of content in all three games.
