Has anyone experienced this situation?  When i load up ME3 online, go into the game menu. the games checks for dlc, then save games, then dlc again. on the 2nd go of the dlc it just shows the disk spinning icon and loading. I can't seem to advance. I can log into EA servers to see my GAW %, still can't advance. I cleared my cache. Deleted my dlc. Reinstalled my dlc. Still the same. When i cleared my cache, then restarted i received a small update. I can get into the game offline just fine. I don't seem to have any other games having a problem with Live.

I'm having exactly the same problem and have tried (unsuccessfully) the same solutions - can only get into single player if I disable my network. Reading elsewhere it seems to be server problem.

Yeah, I get "Mass Effect 3 server is unavailable" and then it does "Checking downloadable content..." but it never finishes. Just sits there looking for DLC, forever, like the developers never figured this would happen and they'd need to program the game to time out.

I remember playing 8-bit NES and there wasn't a single game where you couldn't play it because of a server issue. In some ways gaming has taken a step backwards. At least the graphics are nicer now.

I've got the same problem. I just transferred all my game content from my Xbox Slim, to a USB flash drive, then moved it from that to my Xbox 360. Installed the game from the disc to the HDD, and launched the game.

Same problem - stuck on the 2nd "checking downloadable content" screen. Now I can't play the single player game!

Looks like the servers are actually down... Wish we had some confirmation from Bioware...

Some of the people above have noted that if you disable your network on your xbox (disconnect from it) then the game will pass those checks and you can play single player.

Still, I don't want to disable my network since I stream music and talk to friends over it.

I still couldn't past that dlc check again last night at first. I said to myself let me try this option for the heck of it, lol. I turned on share feedback with Bioware and sign into EA servers automatically.Then i was able to play both Mp/Sp. Not sure if this helps everyone though. Good Luck.

Yes,that is correct. When i first had this problem with the dlc check, i had to play by pulling out the ethernet cord from the router. All the checks passed by fine.

I'm already sharing feedback with EA as far as I can tell, so I guess I'm stuck with disconnecting from my network? So I can't play multiplayer at all?

Well that sucks.

This issue I have been experienceing and absically, to access multiplayer or even the agme, you must first dissconnect your xbox fomr the internet load the game, let it do it's load up, then recconnect to the internet and tadaa your connected and able to play. Sadly this issue has come up after the face import fix patch they provided. They seem to eb taking their sweet time fixing this issue because it's a very scattered issue and even though they say it's high priority it's moving very slowly to fix. Also that little thing I mentioned on how to get into the game I got that form an EA employee in customer service, he said he's noticing the issue had started on PS3, then it flooded over to PC and 360 players, almost wokring liek a virus that was attached ot the patch file.

this happened to me first a few days ago, everytime it happened I reinstalled the downloads, without removing them first. It worked temporarily but today it just completely blocked me.

The best solution, as up above;
Step 1: Disconnect from the internet to enter the start menu, then reconnect to internet.
Step 2: Change your settings in the online submenu to both appear on.
Step 3: If the problem persists, repeat step 1 until they fix it.
