I'll remake this post to state one thing:

The concept that complaining about cheating is wrong is idiotic.

Kthxbai.

I'm on your side here, but your argument is a very poor one that won't convince anybody simply because what others have doesn't actually affect you in any way.

i'm guessing they don't care about a sense of achievement.

Why wouldn't you just reply in the other thread? Since this is a reply to that conversation going on right now...

Agreed, but sometimes people think changing values in Coalesced.bin is always cheating. Not necessarily, because someone could be making a Platinum difficulty that is even more difficult than Gold, and yet nets less credits than a normal Gold run, just to have fun.

The cheaters in this are probably the same crowd that exploited in all the CoD games. Probably the same age bracket as well. I'm sure they'll eventually get bored or leave once Black Ops 2 comes out.

I don't believe it affects me, personally.

That doesn't stop me from knowing that it's wrong, and reporting those people, or telling them why they shouldn't be cheating in the first place.

Yeah, there's also the argument that it's our duty to report people who are breaking the rules. Good point.

I mean, if you see someone breaking into a house that isn't yours, you should obviously call the cops.

That is the worst analogy I've seen all day.

Except the level of offense is more along the lines of walking on grass where it's not allowed. Only annoying tight asses would call the authorites for something like that.

I don't agree with his analogy.

But it doesn't change what I said. I stick by it.

To be completely honest, I don't care if someone cheats. How could I even blame someone for cheating? The store system is garbage.

And if they were to straight up hack their games with speed hacks/god mode whatever, good for them. I'm not bothered by it because they're not in my game. Even if they were in my game, I have the option to leave and find a new game, never seeing that player again.

These days, gold is just getting repetitive since it is no longer a challenge. The challenging part is teaching the noobs what they should be doing (ie tech bursts, biotic explosions). At least if I were to see a hacker, he would make things interesting. In fact, I kind of wish more of them were in public games so I could see what they could do.

We can look at the stickies and see that the people who are against cheating are justified. I dont want to see you guys get banned, SO DON'T CHEAT.

Nothing wrong with complaining about cheating, but for peat sake just submit the cheater/glitcher name to BW no need of creating another expose thread thinking you are kind of super-hero.

Honestly, I just want people to stop cheating- I don't WANT to see everybody banned, but I know that it's against the Rules, and that Bioware has every right to enforce those Rules. The stance that they have taken is saying that Exploiters will only be banned in cases of "massive credit gain"- so if any thread on here can convince somebody that they shouldn't be abusing it ( and actually, a LOT of people don't even believe what they're doing is against the rules- they think that it isn't cheating unless they hack ), we'd actually be saving them from getting banned in the first place.

But it does not effect you.

You will probably never see the people with level X Rare in your game, legit or not.
Even if you did it does not effect you.

It would be like getting mad at the parents(The player) of an attractive female(The weapon) because her parents(The player) exploited the gene pool.
I bet you hate Miranda's father but want Miranda for yourself as your toy thing.

Oh, and if you think cheating is harmless you're an idiot. That's not up for argument, you are most certainly an idiot, and no amount of indignant rage posts on your part will fix that.

I needed a laugh, thanks bro.

This comment is the forum equivalent of going ...."NAH NAH NAH NAH, I'M RIGHT YOUR WRONG!" with your fingers in your ears.  Everything is up for 'argument' since there are logical points of discussion for both sides, though you did a ****** poor job of stating yours.

Accomplishment is a personal feeling, which in no way should be impacted by what others do or say. If your proud of that carnifex X you got on your own, that's a sense of accomplishment. How anyone else got theirs should not be important. If you think they are related, it's because your trying to tie together feelings of accomplishment with competition.

It depends on the nature of cheating. Credit glitch = I don't care, modifying coalesced.bin to trivialize the game = awful (I've seen a guy one shotting everything with an avenger ).
Leechers are worst anyway because they do ruin your games.

****. Why can't we have one damned thread contending this? Instead someone posts "Cheating doesn't matter", then someone posts "Cheating does matter", ad infinitum.

Make one thread where you can argue all your points nobody cares about.

Cheating matters because it ruins the community.

I'm sure some cheaters will not find that convincing but cheaters are scum and I don't honestly care what they think.

I hate them purely on principle.

I don't care if they cheat in single player games, there's nothing wrong with that, but Multiplayer is a no and it makes you the lowest of the low and the noobiest of the noob.

I'm not going to complain about them, I'm going to ostracize them.

The concept that the people complaining about cheaters are in the wrong is so idiotic it's impossible to intelligently argue about.
