That is not true at all!  I have even directly complimented some people!

Frankly, I don't feel bad at all about talking down to someone who would say something as completely useless and blatantly untrue as "All Vanguards are bad".

Why would i be offended, I think you just offended the veneral diseases, Not me. And since me and veneral disease got a mutual agreement of not stepping on each others territory, i cant really relay your apoligies for them either, i think you need to go visit your closest street corner with a skank to do that :S

Incase it wasnt clear. the Veneral diseases have made it clear before, that They want a restraining order on you.

Well, as a Certified Condescending Douche I can tell you that it's simply because my OP said everything that needs to be said about Vanguards and frankly none of you can add to the knowledge I have bestowed upon you.  

(But seriously, I love how that guy keeps bumping the thread.  Keep it up, please!  I'm about to go home (I'm at work) and won't be posting any more tonight!)

Not on Gold.  On Gold, you need very good - one might even say PRECISE - timing and zero lag to avoid being killed after a double-Nova.

I don't think throwing anecdotes around is very useful but I'm going to do it anyway - I've played with FAR more bad Snipers than bad Vanguards.  Most pubbie Snipers I play with seem to be from the "Call of Warfare: Black Battlefield" crowd and are obsessed with hiding in their safe little spot taking potshots - usually at the wrong enemies!

Hint for Snipers: You don't need to shoot Nemeses.  No, REALLY, you don't need to do that.  They are the least dangerous enemy in the game (yes, even less dangerous than Husks!)  Snipers need to be shooting Brutes, Primes, Phantoms, Turrets (ESPECIALLY turrets), etc.

Don't waste that Widow shot on a Geth Trooper or even a Cannibal.  Really, I'm pretty sure the Adept with the Carnifex can handle that guy.  Aim for the Ravager.

Snipers seem to be often obsessed with getting kills rather than doing damage to things that are hard to damage, and that is Playing Bad.

How the hell did I type that...sorry I was saying YOU HAVE TO host as a Human Novaguard.  The others are a safer bet as not the host.  I know...I know....

I can only use 5 medi-gel per match.  If I clear almost every enemy on Waves 1-3 but die because I'm not playing perfectly, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a rez so I can save my medi-gel for waves 7-10 (where the real money is).

Nobody should use medi-gel before wave 6, ever.  Not me, not you, nobody.

I quite enjoy my vanguard. What I hate is if there is even a tiny bit of lag the Vanguard can potentially die often.

Okay saw the arguement there, was hoping to see more details about vanguards on gold as (I havent tried it but I wish to) they seem to be kinda lacking.

So after seeing this thread I went to play a human vanguard... yes I die probably twice more compared to my other teammates on FBWGG but relatively stayed close to my team.

I usually shoot from cover until a hunter/pryo gets close to the entrances then I start my dancing, usually i run back to cover after firing just 1 nova. But when i run out of shields i usually pick another target to charge to refill my shield. I die mostly from attempting to run back when a pryo suddenly cut me off

So any other nice tips? I use lightweight weapons so i guess stuff like carni/phanlx works?

- This is a Co-Op Game.  That means four people are Working Together to Win.  Points are meaningless unless you are an insecure manchild (or womanchild).

- Following that, Each Team Member Has A Role.  A "team" does not mean "four Salarians with sniper rifles" because at some point you will start dying and you will either take forever to complete a wave because you have to keep running away, getting one shot off, running away, etc.

- Following that, The Role of A Vanguard is to Get In Faces and Kill Things.  Vanguards on any level, including Gold, will typically have a lot of kills and a lot of points.  That is Their Job because they are Good At It (if they know how to play the class, of course).

- Following that, Yes, Vanguards Die More Than Other classes.  That is Not Because They Are Bad, it is because They Are Getting In Faces And Killing Things.  I just killed the entire first spawn of the wave, but got killed by a Marauder I didn't notice.  Don't be a jerk and refuse to revive me - I did you a huge favor by killing those guys!

- If you think that it is a Bad Thing that someone is killing more things than you, then you Do Not Understand Teamwork.  If all you want to do is top out the points board, take your Widow X to Bronze and solo it.  I GUARANTEE you will be the points leader!

Now look, I know there are lots of bad Vanguard players.  But there are just as many bad snipers or adepts as well!  Asari Adepts should Probably Not Use A Widow!

Also, please be aware that If You Are Not the Host of the Match, You Should Not Play Vanguard Ever.  This is just a straight fact.  If you're not the host, even a little bit of lag will get you killed - or worse, you will glitch out and fall through the floor, never to be seen again until the end of the match.

DO NOT PLAY VANGUARD UNLESS YOU ARE HOSTING, PERIOD.  If you do, DO NOT CHARGE or BE PREPARED TO LAG OUT.

I play my drellguard all the time lately, he is pretty powerful when played correctly, and I don't always host when I play him, though I do die from it once in a while, which blows

I hate them only if there is a hacking mission and they just ran away and die in the other side of them map.
Also hate it when all three vanguards just go and do their charge thing while I'm the only one who is hacking.
And I DEFINITELY hate that krogan vanguard who run around with his stupid widow and carnifex.
Other than that, I'm fine with vanguards.

Okay I just finished FBWGG using the krogan vanguard for the first time, still trying to get use to life without nova. Amazingly, he's extremely hard to kill. My rotations currently is Charge -> Heavy Melee -> Melee -> melee -> Charge again. Im totally specced for defence so its slow for me to charge and melee things to death. I hardly use my phanlx and usually fire my carnage for ranged attacks. Now i really wish someone can come in and do some reave so I can set of biotic explosions every 3.17 seconds

What's amazing about it? He has 1600/1600 defenses, DR from Barrier, and Biotic Charge to refill shields. What's amazing is that anyone ever dies playing one.

(It's actually not all that amazing, but it does really underline the poor judgment displayed by some Vanguard players.)

I find it rather interesting that only vanguards have to sob and 'defend' and justify their little pets. You dont see topics crying that infiltrators/engineers/adepts are great but misunderstood. Emo much, vanguards ?

^To Thrillskr: You can continue going down your path of least resistance. We prefer to blow stuff up with soldiers and vanguards.

I play gold mostly with my friend, who lives close to me so when he hosts i never lag out. Generally when the ping is good( meaning you don't have noticable delay) you will likely not lag out.

^Kroguard is OP. Not geth infiltrator OP but a real unstoppable beast. When not played by a complete moron of course.

Oh dont misunderstand me, i have nothing againt any of the classes, as long as the player knows how to use it. Its just interesting that nobody but vanguards seems to have the need to constantly say 'hey but we is awsum, dont be hating us coz we zoom about n stuff'.
And i'm not going down the path of anything, i use a class that is enjoyable for me to play.
