Your favourite origin?

I replied through all the origins but I have to say, a city elf is the most entertaining. Especially with Soris and his comments "Are you INSANE?!", and when he slides the sword between the legs of the soldiers for the captured bride to use. Not to mention that drunken guard as a male city elf. "That was cold cousin". I just went, "pffft he's human!" heh
What's your opinion?

Dwarf Noble is just plain fun, you get some pretty hilarious dialogue options.
Mage origin is pretty epic, it was my favorite at first but it's length is also it's downfall when making multiple mages =/.

- The human noble origin made me a whole lot more emotionally invested in bringing down Arl Howe, Teyrn Loghain and any other idiot or psychopath who followed them.
- The city elf origin is suitably dramatic... certainly a sacrilege for anyone... even the Arl's son to come crashing someone's wedding to kidnap all the girls there. An awesome introduction to the plight facing Fereldan's knife-eared downtrodden underclass.
- The dwarf noble origin was an awesome introduction to the cutthroat world of dwarven politics. Usually I support Bhelen for the throne since he makes a better king than Harrowmont... yet this origin definitely has me thinking twice about that despite everything. For the hell of it I tried a female dwarf noble, and the flirtation between her and Gorim added to the story immensely.
- The dwarf commoner origin is just hilarious. Playing the lowlife duster that has the nerve to profane the Proving grounds with his very presence. It also presents a graphic introduction to the evils of the dwarven caste system and background of the Carta. I haven't played a dwarf commoner that far... but I certainly would get more satisfaction killing Jarvia coming from this background.
- The mage origin had me hating Jowan for being such a selfish ******. I know the Warden-to-be is supposed to be his friend... but they are a newly harrowed mage entitled to a day of celebration and relaxation after that ordeal, and he's asking them to risk it all over a girl he can't be with and the consequences of his dabblings in blood magic (and before you say you don't know until he stabs his hands and blows those templar away... Greagoir has eyewitness testimony that he's been doing so, as Irving says). Needless to say, I always go to Irving before proceeding with Jowan's plan.
- The only one that doesn't quite do it for me is the Dalish elf origin. I just couldn't find the same emotional investment in that story as I did all the others.

I played through them all the day I bought the game. Admittedly I wished I hadn't as it's potentially ruined further play throughs for me. However, I have to admit that I absolutely loved the Dwarf Noble Origin. It was like playing through a miniature film. I had no idea what was going to happen in it. Great stuff.
Yes, the start of that one is very good. The dwarf commoner one isn't so bad either especially at the Arena... spoiler... something like...
Coordinator: This casteless man has NO PLACE HERE!
Duncan: Except... as your CHAMPION.
Bloody strong line imo lol
I've played all the origins and I have to say that the city elf origin is my favorite, but only as a female character. It's still a damsel in distress scenerio, but damsel pretty much saves herself...
Heh I have to agree with that, the best was when the sword was slided between the legs of the guards and they both went 'oh sod!', at the sight of an unarmored woman with a stolen sword lol.
- The only one that doesn't quite do it for me is the Dalish elf
origin. I just couldn't find the same emotional investment in that
story as I did all the others.
Hmmm, either then the oath of the Dalish, I never found that one that interesting either.

What made me dislike the dwarf noble origin was the return to Ozammar =/ That was even more disappointing then me killing Howe on the human noble origin... argh, even a 'knife-murder' finish would be nice with Howe.

Originally, I just wanted to play the Origins for the achievements. But when I played the Casteless Dwarf, I felt very attached to the main character's sister and best friend Leske. The conversations were funny, and Leske really felt like a believable partner in crime. In the end, when I had to leave them, I felt a pang of sadness.
So the Casteless Dwarf had its moments of humor, sadness, camaraderie, glory, etc. It inspired me so much, that I will remain using my Casteless Dwarf avatar for a long time.

Dwarf Noble is a distant second
City Elf, Mage and Cast-less Dwarf very average... 3rd
The Dalish Elf origin was a distant last... actually I found the sheer lack of hooks in the main story turned me off that Origin at level 14 and I deleted it (archery is visually bland and very very boring as well)
With the amount of hype placed on the origins, I did expect more from them.
But again the Human Noble Origin was well written with just enough (would of liked more) hooks in the main story to make it a believable origin.

Human Noble was very nice. Dwarf commoner was short but the Proving was awesome with the music and all. Mage was boring. City Elf was... grr.. making me angry... and also very nice. Dwarf Noble was meh but fun.

1) City Elf Female was the most original to RPGs I've played and thus the most entertaining me to play. City Elf Male was fun but not in an "omg am I seeing that!" kind of way.
2) Dwarf Noble was great. I loved the chance to be a royal weenie. Gorim did all my talking and I absolutely loved that. Not seen that in an RPG before and I really apprecaited what it brought.
3) I actually enjoyed the Dalish Elf, maybe because I played mine as very true to his roots. Never took the easy or pretty way out if there was questionable morality in it. He respected nature and his beliefs above everything else, making the predictable choice as the end.
Human Noble wasn't very entertaining to me. I've played stories similar enough to it in the past that it was actually forgettable. The Noble ending might make it worth it, but I haven't finished a Noble character (or read the wiki!) so I can't be sure.
I did like the mage, but I wish there had been more of a sense of wonder and oppressed power in it. For all the flavor text about political mage groups... a political twist would have been really nice.

My city elf was very anti-marriage, up until the point of her husband-to-be getting cut down because he'd come to save her.
