I purchased the game a few days ago and the game was basically unplayable.  Once the charachter creator started it would lag terribly, it would basically show one or two frames, freeze for 10-20 seconds, play another frame...you get the idea.  I have defragged, cleaned, updated everything and have no idea what to try next, I've basically tried everything that I've found in the forums to make it work.  I was able to make it through the creator once and at that point the game seemed to run fine but being an idiot I decided to log out and try to make a charachter again and it didn't work.  Any suggestions are welcome, here's the info

Windows Vista 32
AMD Athalon 62x2 Dual core 5600+
6 gigs ram  (yes, I realize that it doesn't recognize all of it)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 275

go to 1 core mode and see if it helps, others have reported its like 'safe mode' for Dragon Age
