just wondering
during the tutorial/intro when you get to level up Anderson, he has the ability to have grenades, but if you put any points into it, he doesn't have any.
Why doesn't Anderson have any grenades if you spec him for grenades at the beginning of the game

Good question. Perhaps they didn't really want him to have grenades there. I never bothered to put points into it myself.

No ammo boxes for him to get them out of?

Me either I find enemy grenades are damn effective but the grenades they give me seem to be substandard.

I find it amusing you can level him up anyway considering you never fight with him again after that mission.

You could skill up Wilson in Me2 and Corporal jenkins in ME aswell. It's probably there to show the newbies how it's done later in the game.

I know you could skill up Jenkins, but I always found the Squad screen locked as soon as I picked up Wilson so I could not level him up. Same with Dr. Kenson on Arrival.Get fired up wrote...

It's a trap, just like the Dr. Eva run.

It's probably just to keep up with the tradition in Bioware games to have a temporary squad mate that either dies or leaves and is immediately replaced with an exact copy. So, Jenkins (Soldier) is replaced by Ashley (Soldier), Wilson (Has overload) is replaced by Miranda (Sentinel with Overload) and Anderson (Soldier with Grenades, Carnage and Fortification) is replaced by James (Soldier with Grenades, Carnage and Fortification).

That or Anderson's object is built from the object used for squadmates which would cause those properties to be made available to the player.
