People aren't complaining about XP, they're crying because of the amount of credits earned, but the whole argument seems like, "Derp derp that guy just jaywalked and I'm here waiting at the crosswalk. I'm going to get mad and call the cops."

It's an exploit, sure, but it in no way effects you or your enjoyment of the game. If you want to play legitimately all the more power to you, but why report those players that feel like cheating the flawed system? Is it because you're jealous?

It doesn't matter how minor or extreme the RL anology is.  If someone is breaking the rules, and they stated that it is in fact breaking the rules...I don't support it.

And neither does the OP.  It is simply a breakdown of the xp earned doing things both ways.  Says right there in the first few lines actually that I DO NOT ENCOURAGE THIS ACTION.   I think it important that other players have all the information reguarding the so called "benefits" or lack thereof to using this particular glitch, which I have a petition to end!

Following the rules just because they're the rules is asinie. What if tomorrow BioWare decided to ban ever class and weapon except the Human Soldier and Predator. Would you be on here saying that everyone using any other class or weapon should be reported etc.?

@RandomvGrenade And it's getting fixed. So worries set to rest, and I hope they get it done as soon as possible

@ZombieGambit
Missed the part where I said they don't allow it? I honestly don't know what else to say....

And neither of those things are exploiting the game, that wasn't....a very good comparison to make.

@Talon
LMAO!  Ah jeeez....

the problem here is that your math, which no one is disputing, only reinforces the idea that those who take advantage of the glitch get a massive boost in credits.

while xp may be more important to you, the only people who use the credit glitch are those who want more credits.

there are tangible advantages that come with buying packs - namely weaponry. for a weapons-based class, that means access to weapons like the black widow or geth plasma shotgun instead of a mantis or katana, respectively. for cooldown-based classes, it means having weapons that are light but still pack enough punch to be a viable backup plan, like a phalanx or carnifex.

there are very real benefits to the use of the credit glitch for other players, even if you particularly don't need to use it. you're arguing that there are no benefits by pointing to the part of the outcome that no one takes into account when using the glitch.

Keep it on topic, I've been very passive with bans so far in this thread and those associate with the same topic. No longer.

Any personal jabs,at all, by anyone will result in a vacation from BSN.

You can crunch all the numbers you like grenade the bottom line is this despite every argument in its defense the credit glitch remains just that a glitch. Unintended errors in the system that EVERYONE playing mass effect agreed not to use.

There are no "moral grounds" on which to stand behind breaking this rule.

Considering morals are subjective and change from person to person, so your statement only applies from YOUR perspective.  His perspective is equally important, whether you think so or not.  You don't define anyone else's moral standing.

I've broken rules before, yes, who hasn't. But I don't do it consistantly just to throw the finger up at the man just for having rules.

That's what cheaters do. Most of the rules I've broken was because I had no idea that rule was in place. But here's the thing... you are supposed to read the Terms of Service. Likewise BioWare has made their stance on the credit glitch, it's now a rule, and people online are spreading the news. Last night in two seperate public games there were nice gentalmen who took it upon themselves to warn people that BioWare/EA are banning credit glitchers and if you are using this trick you should think about stopping.

There is a difference, no matter how bad you want to argue about it. Cheating the system to cheat the system is wrong, breaking a rule by accident and then not breaking the same rule again is called learning a lesson.

The number of expletives that almost shot out of my finger at the shock of 7 pages of this appearing after 1:00 was astounding. I'm not angry at anyone, but how did it get this far? How did it come to this? I want to know.

Very well. There is no "moral standing" that I would back and cause me not to report a person for abusing this glitch.

BECAUSE IT IS TEARING THIS COMMUNITY APART!!!!!!!!  This the point of my post.   If they aren't going to fix it people should at least understand as much as they can about it so we can avoid all the "kneejerk" reactions we've seen thus far.

Tearing the community apart? No i disagree if people read AND followed the ToS this would be a non issue. If anything is tearing the community apart and i greatly stress the "if" it would be those with little to no sense of responsibility and whose "word" (commitment to follow through on an agreement they knowingly and wilfully signed) is untrustworthy.

Regardless, the exploit is still 100% an exploit given that the persons prioritizes weapon unlocking over experience.
The person who uses it for exp farming is still trying to exploit as well, making it not justified regardless. A simple warning that it reduces the rate that EXP is earned is enough. Saying that this invalidates all benefits of the glitch, and makes it foolhardy, is considerably more foolhardy as well.
The community consensus is that multiplayer manifest comparisons are much more competitive then N7 ranking, given that a large majority of the community abstains from the N7 race, and instead fuels their tremendous gambling addiction on this game.

You meant to say "the PC community". I'm no XBOX and very few of them take the time to sign up to these forums, so the manifest is ABSOLUTELY NOT the accetped standard.  Especially since the manifests were ADDED AFTER GAME RELEASE.  To make that argument is false, as the manifest was never part of the released product.

Then your target audiance is totally absent here, and you should be argueing elsewhere. Joining this there these forums will quickly pull people out of this audiance as well.

Especially since the manifests were ADDED AFTER GAME RELEASE.  To make that argument is false, as the manifest was never part of the released product.

So the GPS, Kishook, and Striker are not a valid topic in balence discussions since they were not released with the game, thus should be left unused by the community anyhow? For many, the striker totally obsoleted the clipped wing falcon. To some the GPS is a minigun with nigh infinite potential unlike its forfather, the GPR, and the Kishook is the greatest alternative to the lackluster Javelin.
Why is the manifest excluded from  this? To most who have seen it, the manifests manifest destiny is to replace the old scoreboard.

Be honest, it has been your posts that have caused the bulk of the problem today. Anyone can go back to them and see this.
